If you ever saw him play and haven't read it then do. If you didn't see him play just read the prologue that should do it....

will do. Mc Grath was a legend on the pitch, but I understand a lot of intersting things went on off it too. I met him in galway once, and though he had a few beers, he was very nice, quiet and humble.

The second one is a hell of a lot better. Its much more in depth and revealing. What a player though, dodgy knees, never trained with the teams and a huge alcohol addiction problem and still one of the best players of his generation who got better when people thought he was finished

I think its a great read. Loved the stories of the old games he played in. And how jack charlton made him play the 2nd half of the Itay game with the dodgy knee!!

Good call, its a great read and he seems to strike a cord with the reader. Well up there as one of the best reads I ever come across.

Was down at the National College today for the 'Legends on your Lunchtime' to see Paul McGrath. Was a decent enough interview with your man from Off The Ball on Newstalk. He was asked who was the hardest forward he came up against and answered Ian Rush.

Yeah saw him today around the college today but couldnt go as I had a class.His book is a great read.
