Went to see this at a film festival on Sunday last. It really is a harrowing portrayal of life in the North in the early 80's. The conditions of the maze, the prison guards life etc. The scene between Bobby Sands and the Priest (Dom) really is excellent it goes for so long without a camera change it really feels like you are watchng the scene from a play.
Excellent film about a horrible time that I was too young to know about and only know details of through documentaries/ books etc

Rented this last night actually. Coincidence! Thought it was a bit arty for my liking, but overall it was a fantastic portrayal of what the Hunger Strikers went through, without investigating the wider repercussions of their actions.

Saw this a few weeks ago, very dark and harrowing film to watch. Doesn't exactly make enjoyable viewing but it did give a very good insight into the life of the men in those prisons and the brutality of how they were treated, which I suppose was its purpose. Some very graphic scenes in it, awful to see people being treated in such an inhumane way.
