Looking forward to this. Although it's such a lottery of a race, always enjoy it.

Who are people backing? Going to lump on 2 Each-Way bets myself, and see if we get lucky.

Thinking about Himalayan Trail at 25/1

Was on Betfair yesterday and they must have cleared down the Grand National as there were hardly any unmatched bets on. I put a tenner at 20/1 on Mywill and someone took it. He is now 9/1 with Ruby confirmed. Thats all I am going to do, the favourite very rarely wins, maybe it will change this year.

Al Eile is running in the John Smith’s Aintree Hurdle. Can't see anyone else winning this race. Have won a nice bit of money on this horse over the last while. Odds won't be great on Saturday tho.

Think I'm going for an each way on Preists Leap at 50/1.

According to tradition in the locality the name comes from a story in which a priest pursued by english soldiers escaped by having his horse make a miraculous leap from a mountain cliff in the townland of Cummeenshrule in Kenmare to County Cork.

The Grand National is such a lottery I think you need a horse with a bit of a story. Besides that hes from Cork.

Hes trained by Thomas O’Leary and has won the last two runnings of the prestigious Thyestes Chase at Gowran Park over three miles. He is carrying a small bit of weight but should get round and fingers crossed be there or there abouts at the end.

i like black appalachi. he likes to run in big fields ( thats a race with lots of runners) not a big wide open field. he will stay the distance and has won over the national fences before. the ground will be good so that would indicate that there will be plenty of finishers and less likely to be a huge outsider winning the race

He's gone out to 16/1 now. Might be worth a few quid each-way at that price.

Just got a nod from regular tipper in the local, he said ted walsh's horse that his son Ruby is on southern vic and for the irish grand national royalcountystar if the ground is dry.
For me I will be doing black apalache and chelsea harbour a great mullins horse

Backed L'ami today at 20/1... Just thought it was good ew value and i think Mccoy will be on board.

Think my Will is a huge lay at that price, horses over 11st 5 have not won in 72 years and he is om 11st 4. Also 1 horse above 11 stone has won in 28 years..

Others that stand out with form and trends are Offshore Account, Cornish Sett, Darkness, Rambling Minister, Kilbeggan Blade and Brooklyn Brownie. Ill narrow these down to 2 on Friday :)

    Grand National/Liverpool Fixtures

Just curious lads. Is the Grand National always on the 1st Saturday in April? I presume it is always factored in the Premier League fixtures because Liverpool always play away that day.

I am concerned though that Mr. Ferguson should know this as he might be arranging the fixtures next season.

    FACT!:D:D:D:D

I think the Ruby factor is coming into play there. I have backed it at twice the current price, so will be hoping it can come in further.
