i was on 3 days a week a while ago,and i think ur boss has to get on to the social welfare and tell them ur on a 3 day,and he gets forms and then you go up then to sign on.
Ring citizens information on (01) 605 9000 and they will tell you how to sort it out.

just go the social yourself and explain the situation they just give you a form that your boss signs and you take it from there .

Yeah im on a three day week,
first your boss must give you a letter saying your cut back to three days, bring this into the social welfare with ID and that and they will give you some forms to fill out and 2 forms for your work to fill out. they dont really care about hours its the DAYS you work that matter.youl get a list of criteria you need to bring into the office, passport, bank details, credit union etc
when you get all your forms together bring them in, theyl take a bit to process and youl get a letter saying youl have a meeting to confirm your application. the woman i got for this was really nice you just have to explain the situation.
From the start youl be given slips(the yellow cards) to compile your working hours for that week) you have to fill these out and have them signed and stamped by your work.
So youl have to wait a few weeks(i waited 2 months! and i applied in january)and youl get a letter telling you that they have worked out how much to pay you for the days you miss and around a week later youl get a cheque for your backdated pay!!!
hope this helps sorry its abit all over the place!!

you can only sign for 2 days if there's a chance you'll be going back to work full time within 6 months after the 6 months you can sign for 3 but will be taxed on it
