Sorry to be the messenger of bad news, but it looks like we are entering a bit of an injury crisis. Both agger and alonso have broken their metetarsel thinganamajigie.Alonso we can cope without for 5 weeks or so but agger is a huge blowCant believe this.F**ken international break has done the club no good whatsoever.
This is not good news at all. Xabi we can cope without but will Sami be able to handle 2 games a week for 6 weeks?? Rafa said he will shift Alvaro to CB if needs be. Bloody pointless game against Liechenstein he picked up the injury in aswell
Imo alonso will be missed, although we have plenty of cover in that position i feel none of our other midfielders bar gerard look for the ball like alonso, the match with porto being an example of this.Momo and masch are better when we dont have the ball.Alonso has started well and has looked back to his best this season. Aggers injury is a big blow but at least the fixtures in the next 4 to 5 weeks are not too bad bar the everton and marseille matches. The spurs match could be tricky but being a home match and the form and present cloud over jols future should be ok.
this is where Rafa should earn his keep. small bit of rejigging is all thats required. the squad is large enough now. i'd be tempted to play Arbeloa at centrehalf this weekend. is leivo ready for a game?
two huge blows the lose of xavi is bad enough but i think we have enough strenght in midfield to cope .agger,s injury is more significant our squad is not big enough at centre half as much as sami is a god age is catching up with his legs shold we buy in january rumours of Steven Taylor of newcastle
I'm not too concerned about Xabi, while I would of course preferred this not to happen, because of the cover in centre midfield. I wonder will Rafa use Arbeloa in the centre. He says it's his favourite position. Judging by his performances it mightn't be a bad option?
broken their metetarsel again it has to be time that the boot manufacturers look at what is happening. thats agger and xabi aswell as emile heskey this week
bit of a shock seeing xavi and agger out for the next month or so. thank god no operations needed or anything. in midfield im confident we have enough quality to cover xavi but we are a bit tight in defence. big sammi mightnt have the legs for 2 games in a row. very surprised rafa didnt line up other alternatives to bring in before the window closed. hopefully he'll bring in quality cover in january. until then though a lot of reshuffling could be taking place at the back. hopefully masher will be starting again with stevie in the middle on saturday. he'll tear birmigham apart!
just a small note cause it;s something that bugs me (I;m a moany git) but Alonso's name is Xabi not Xavi. Xavi plays for Barca
