Right, time for people to put the mess of Boro to the back of their minds and lets just focus on whats in front of us. Nothing can be done about whats gone, so lets all be united (for lack of a better phrase!) and use the power of positive thinking to go into this match with the right frame of mind. Having said that, if Nando is still missing, and possibly Gerrard too, I can see this one being another case of a team coming to park the bus in front of The Kop and challenge us to break them down. Sunderland held Arsenal to a 0-0 a couple of weeks ago, and they got to the 89th minute at Old Trafford. I think the line up should be something like this; (assuming that Nando and Stevie will be missing) ---------------------------Pepe----------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- ----Arbeloa--------Carragher-----Skrtel-----Aurélio----------- -------------------------Mascherano------------------------- ---Benayoun---------------Alonso---------------Reira-------- ----------------------------------Babel---------------------- ------------------------Kuyt--------------------------------- I know people aren't to high on Babel right now, but I'm still prepared to give me more time. At least, at the very least, until the end of the season. I would just like to see something along the lines of this line up, instead of the defensive approach we take at home. A bit more attack minded, maybe adopt a gung-ho "nothing to lose" type attitude, and start creating chances right from the get go. A nice fast pace to the game is required. When we play at home, we seem to play a slow passing game, and then go 1-0 down before picking up the tempo. When we pick up the tempo, other teams seem like they just cant deal with us. So I say, start this way, get a go, and then slow the game down. Not the other way around. Come on lads. Its not over til its over. I've watched enough Rocky films to know that much!
Not sure, I switched off straight after the final whistle and havent took much notice of any football since so was just wondering. If that was the case then good.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't just cramp. He came out the worse off in a 50/50 challenge. It may well have been just an impact injury that was fine a hour or two later, or this morning when he woke up. But it certainly didn't look like cramp to me. It would be pretty coincidental that he pulled up after the challenge, moved pretty gingerly for a minute or two, and then came off. I'm hope I'm wrong, but I certainly didn't think it was cramp.
babbel should never be allowed to play for liverpool again after saturday he,s just not interested i,ll tell you what kenwayne jones up front for the pool is an interesting prospect what do you think
If there is 1 person on this site that is in no position to slag spelling - then it is teenagedrunkenskrtel
Touche-BUT even in that state I can still spell the names of our players past and present-not a lot to ask is it?SKRTEL,BABEL,HYYPIA,MASCHERANO-not rocket science like
i was reffering to johnnycrimpo,s team to play sunderland i think kenwayne jone,s would do a great job for the pool if benetiz thought heskey was the answer why not jones still a young man unlike heskey
i was refering to johnnycrimpo,s team selection to play sunderland, i think kenwayne jones could do a great job for us ,if benetiz thought heskey was the answer, then jones is our man still only a young man to.
Its JohnnyChimpo. Its Kenwyne Jones, its Ryan Babel, and its Rafa Benitez. And I really hope your joking about wanting Kenwyne Jones to be a target for us for the summer. Why not bring back Cisse too? He constantly outshines Jones, maybe we should get him too? We're Liverpool, we need to be aiming a little higher than the likes of Peter Crouch, Craig Bellamy and Kenwyne frickin' Jones.
The formation v Pompey looked good in parts when we were missing Gerrard and Torres. I'd go with something along the lines of... Reina Skrtel...Carra...Agger Arbeloa...Aurelio...Alonso...Mascherano...Dossenna Babel...Kuyt If both our 2 superstars are out, then I think we'd get the best from whats left from this formation. In the Fulham game, we lined up really well, and everyone knew their role. Forget about the result for a minute and try to cast your memories back to the actual game and how we played. We dominated them for the first half and were unlucky not to get our noses in front, but we really got the best out of Dossenna, possibly his best game in a Red shirt, and Aurleio never lost his touch in midfield from his Valencia days. Alonso in midfiled would have plenty of runners to choose from in attack, and Masch would supply protection in front of the 3 CB's. Defensively, the 3-5-2 quickly turns into a 5-3-2, offering defensive solidity when on the back foot. Playing 2 up top is the bare minimum we should be playing when at home, anything less is just unambitious.. I would like to see Raga go with this set up in the event that SG and Nando are unavailable.
