O'Neill on Tuesday dropped a bombshell by leaving behind an entire first team of players for the second leg of Thursday's last-32 clash at the Luzhniki Stadium.

With two Premier League matches to follow in the space of six days against Stoke and Manchester City as Villa chase Champions League football for next season, O'Neill has made it clear the UEFA Cup has now become an obstacle to their progress.

Although O'Neill dropped a broad hint he would rest players in the wake of last week's 1-1 first-leg draw at Villa Park, arguably no-one anticipated the cull he has imposed.

Barry, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Ashley Young, Brad Friedel, James Milner, Carlos Cuellar, Stiliyan Petrov, Emile Heskey and Nigel Reo-Coker have all been left at home.

Throw in the injured Martin Laursen and Wilfrid Bouma, and those players would constitute the make up of any Villa starting XI.

8/11 looks very good odds :D

Athletico Barcelona Kettering at just over 6/1 looks tasty to get me back on track.

Just did Torres to score first and Liverpool to win 1-0 @ 50/1 with Terry Rogers ...

worth a punt in my opinion, did the same bet last year for Inter and got €330 back!

Did €20 No Goalscorer at 8/1.

[QUOTE=Kop On;139087]Just did Torres to score first and Liverpool to win 1-0 @ 50/1 with Terry Rogers ... QUOTE]

That is very tempting...

Im also considering: Liverpool to come from behind and draw @ 13/2 with PP

We have a nack of doing that this season. Liverpool to come from behind and win is 18/1 but unlikely IMO

2-2 draw perhaps? 14/1. If its a draw it will be a score draw I reckon. I expect a few goals tonight dont know why just get that feeling.

Bit off topic, but I had a fiver on Rooney to score 1st and United to win 2-0 last nite. Am I entitled to get my stake refunded as he played less than 15 minutes. I seem to remember reading some rule like that for first scorer bets.

Thanks

I did it last night in PP and only got 30/1, then seen it this afternoon at 50's in Terry;s so had another small nibble

Not 100% but I thought on the scorecasts if your player doesn;t play (or effectively doesn;t play as in this case) your bet defaults automatically to a straight 2-0 win
