I thought the thread read "other sports"!!!...it needs big Frank & bigger Donal Og to both gracefully "retire" -both sides shed blood as it were and let us Corkmen enjoy hurling again
I think your a bloody disgrace If you take 5 seconds, I think you'll find another thread or two floating around on this topic already.
C,UNTS thats what they are, funny how they protest and go on strike when there shit and they know theres not a chance of them getting near Kilkenny, I can hear the excuses already for them winning **** all, behind the scenes crap players not happy blah blah, f*** them out of the league and let them rot.
Ya cos we knew we hadnt a hope back in 2002 aswell when we went on strike....oh hang on a second we got to the next 4 finals in a row Do you mind me asking which majestic sporting county you hail from yourself
Dublin myself man, but you dont see our lads going on Strike every few years, the fact that this is the 2nd time in the same Decade shows you what a load of pre madonnas they are, they should be proud to be selected to play for there county whoever the manager is, its a bit like whats going on at Chelsea except the Cork County board have the balls to stand up to the players, and accept the manager is the 1 in charge. And I think you know this current cork team has'nt a prayer of getting near Kilkenny who are possibly the best side ever to play the game, 2002 Cork side was alot better.
But it's not so much an issue they have with the manager as the county board. It's unjust to call the players pre madonnas when you don't know the inside track. They've been ****ed about long enough by Frank Murphy and are even willing to sacrafice the remainder of their inter-county careers so that this problem of selection and power is sorted once and for all for the future success of cork hurling. For that they should be applauded imo. To compare the cork issue with that at Chelsea shows how little you know on the particular topic and I really dont have the energy or will power to explain it to you.You can have your own opinions of the hurlers-that wont bother me or the team-all i'm saying is that your notion that they are going on strike simply becauese they're afraid of Kilkenny is both childish and ridiculous.
I'm not doubting you know more about than I do been from Cork and that, but last season they done it and had games postponed when it should'nt have been allowed and were allowed have them rearranged to suit them when they had put there quarreling on hold, its very unfair on the 2009 "Panel" who feel like there "scabs" for wanting to represent the County they grew up in and have Dreamed of playing for, the Kilkenny comment was a bit "Tongue in cheek" my friend and I dont think that(although they are on a different planet at the moment) thats why there pulling out, what I will say is there not doing there image in the rest of the Country any favours with whats going on.
i think what they are doing is one of the most noble acts i've ever seen A hurler probably has 7-8 years as a top inter-county hurler and these lads are putting one of those years in danger, maybe even more. All they want is a change in the county board. Frank murphy is a fcukin joke and has to go but the prick won't budge because he has become a very wealthy man on the back of cork g.a.a. these lads want to change things now so the next generation have better leadership which will lead to more all-irelands.
Have another read of that there Paddy and tell me where the tongue-in-cheek aspect was portrayed Look,I'm not thrilled about it either-both sides are at fault,it's a ****ing mess as far as I'm concerned and I'm disappointed we wont be challenging for the all-ireland for the first time since 2002.(still,it's good coming from a county that has a quality football team aswell to fall back on though)Neither the fans nor the panel gives a flying **** about our 'image' throughout the rest of the county though and you are entitled to your opinion bud. I only take issue with this idea that the players are pre madonnas and are only on strike cos they're afraid of kilkenny who are admittedly AWESOME the last two years,as that is utter bollox frankly
jaysus, this has actually turned in to a serious discussion! is it true that the footballers are getting dragged in to it...?
Yes-theyre threatening a strike aswell if the hurlers thing isn't resolved.Would be shocked if the same happened them though-but you never know with usIt's more of a circus than following newcastle
