we have them at work but dont use them, they are more of a security thing, so that know one can rob your laptop as it would be useless, but is it necessary for a home user..im not sure

what will you be using the laptop for? games? video? or just general horsing around

is the blue ray necesary? 4GB of ram is lots also

if it is for gaming it sounds savage, but other than that it may be more than needed

home/work but more for home, i download a lot of stuff, have 2x 250g full ex memory with media playback, so the 250g on the laptop would be great, not into gaming but my son is. blu ray not necessary but without isnt much cheaper on the studio 15 model, nice to have the option, i could opt for the inspiron 15 -no blu ray 2 gb ram with same 250gb memory for about 80 euro cheaper-no finger print or face rec. wat do u think?

for the sake of 80 euro go for it
i have a mac myself, cant complain they are savage
in regard to teh external media , you can get a 1tb hard drive for around 100euro, might be worth the investment if you have alot of movies / media

i have 300gb left on my one :)

Before you buy from dell, have a look at laptopsdirect.ie, have some great value laptops.my family have bought a few from them and they have been great to deal with.
