**** that-we'll win it for the 96-put out our best team.not like torres is wrecked having only played a handful of games and gerrards flying so why change it?
Alot more confident about this one than our previous 2 encounters-they'll have to come out to play and we're off the back of a great result.3-1.

hmmmmm.... I think Lucas, Babel, Dossena, Hyppia and Benayoun will start.
Reina, Arbeloa, Carra, Hyppia, Dossena, Benayoun, Lucas, Masherano, Babel, Gerrard and Torres.
Rafa will not want to lose this one, esp after some of the guff from both camps after the first match.

seen this on another site not sure where it is from - gollum has some neck
Liverpool are fakers, says Moyes
David Moyes: "When you get players lying on the floor and waving their hands suggesting cards and the referee is missing challenges, it's very hard."
David Moyes has raised the temperature on his side's second FA encounter with Liverpool even higher by accusing Everton's Merseyside neighbours of feigning injury and attempting to get his own players booked.
Moyes - still smarting from the Goodison league encounter in October 2007 in which Mark Clattenburg dismissed Tony Hibbert, seemingly after a word from Steven Gerrard, as well as Phil Neville, but allowed Jamie Carragher to escape with a foul in his own area - spoke plainly.
“I think Liverpool have had an awful lot going for them,” Moyes said. “We are whole-hearted but when you get players lying on the floor and waving their hands suggesting cards and the referee is missing challenges, it's very hard.”
Moyes, who has the Manchester City loan striker Jo at his disposal tonight, remains insistent that Everton should have been awarded a penalty five minutes into the Anfield tie after Steven Pienaar seemed to have his heels clipped by Alvaro Arbeloa.
“Would it be a penalty for Liverpool in front of The Kop?” Moyes asked, after the game and he added yesterday: “There are moments in games when you think it could have gone for you but it doesn't.”

Everyone knows our striker situation and if any team would like to see Torres get injured apart from the scum it's the bitters. I wouldn't leave him near the pitch tonight, they'll kick the legs off him. Put Kuyt and Babel up front. Give Carra a rest too and play Hyppia and Agger.

Give Carra a rest too and play Hyppia and Agger.
If Benitez told Carra he was dropping him for a Derby he better be wearing a helmet cos Carra would deck him. Carra doesnt need a rest, he didnt exactly have to do a whole lot last Sunday did he?

Two days after the transfer dealine passes and our frailities are for all to see on ITV. An unfit Torres plodding around the park, an injured Gerrard leaving injured, another poor performance by Reira and Benayoun not getting with the pace. And what have we to look forward to? The arrival of the lethal Babel!
When will Rafa ever get it? To sell Keane and give the impression that Keane just didn't fit in is laughable. To let him go and leave us short in attacking options is ridiculous. We have shown absolutely nothing going forward again tonight. Too many of his players are just not conributing and just why is that?
But for a dodgey referee decision and 2 mad moments it would have been another draw. We just don't seem to be on it at all. I am so disappointed by tonights performance yet again. Just need to sit back and watch them get the winner now!!

That was the Arbeloa of last season for the goal - challenging his own centre halves in the air and then being out of position when the ball fell. More pressure on Rafa. Was his decision to constantly keep faith with useless Lucas. Rafa would probably say that if he had been allowed sign Barry we wouldn't have needed to use him so much

Another season without a trophy.
Arbeloa ball watching for the goal.
Wise up, if we finished 20 points behind united and won the cup, it would a poor season. Challenge them c*nts to May and it will be progress. Tonight was not the teams night. Once Gerrard went off, it was left to Torres. All the games caught up on him. Lucas the liability then swung it in Everton. Even if it was 11 V 11 it could have gone either way. I was far more sickened by the late equalise in the league.
Great display from Carragher tonight. He should not have been on losing side.

:confused::confused::confused:
Its a sickening result, but hardly Rafa's fault. Masherano was as likely to get sent off tonight. It was one of them nights were tackles are flying and two yellows was always on the cards. The sending turned it in their favour.
Rafa put out 9 of his best 11 out. He lost the captain after 15 minutes and the star striker did not get a sniff at the Everton backline marked him out of it and he looked fuked. Everton played well and a lot of Liverpool fans forget that their two teams in every match. The teams could not be seperated until the sending off and that was the turning point. The bitters kept knocking on the door and got a lucky break.

I think we need to take some positives from this game and result. Okay, without Stevie and Torres both on the pitch and firing and without Masch on from the start, we are a much weaker team. The fact that Everton couldnt do much though and had to rely on a deflected goal at the death says it all about them.
The silver lining for me is that we are out of the FA Cup. That will allow us to concentrate on the League and the CL, no distractions or wasted efforts.
The bad points: the injuries. Lets hope Gerrard was taken off early for precaution. Torres, I missed that part but lets hope he recovers. I thought that Torres was very bright and he clearly missed Stevie when he went off, we all know that would happen anyway.
I thought Riera could have done more with his capability. If he had the mental attitude of Yossi or Kuyt, he would produce more. Kuyt, we all know about. This is not a type of game where he shines. Babel, he's just looking for goals for himself. He can do a job as an impact sub against a team with a weaker defence. And maybe against European opposition where he is more energy than skill. At the moment,m he is not developing his game.
As for Lucas, more naive than dirty. But why did Rafa play him in the first place. I will say it again, Spearing is a better player, better. Lucas just hasnt developed from his U18 days, especially in the english league. Who knows, he may sparkle in the Spanish league. Rafa should offload him in the summer.
I'd also like to see El Zhar given more run-outs. He may be similar to what Sinama-Pongolle was but like him, he wont develop unless he gets some regular game time.
Okay, so we are out of the FA Cup, but its not the end of the world, far from it, it should in fact give us more chances in the other competitions.
Roll on ..... and Walk On!

Some of the comments about Babel here are fairly damning and overly stupid.
He came on and did well for a team down to ten men, I seen more encouragement in his attitude tonight that I have seen all season. Battled away up top against 3 defenders...
Comments on Babel well deserved imo. Twice Xabi looked up for an out ball and the lazy pr**k was standing still. Didn't even make a run so he could hoof it into the corner. How long was he on the pitch? Other players with over 100 mins hard work done still going as hard as they could and Babel was walking most of the time he was on the pitch. Walking!!!!
I'm disgusted with his attitude!!! Give me Kuyt any day-very limited but at least he's giving his all-same cannot be said for Babel. Waste of space!!!! Felt sorry for the rest of them Some didn't play well but they all gave 100%. A

Torres attitude tonight was baffling. Keane at least would try tackle and run. Torres tonight after scoring two on Sunday was looking like a player that just didn't want to be playing. Every time tackled (fairly) went down. We need fight in this squad to win things not ****ing pussys. Either he is not match fit or has an attitude from last season thinking things come easy in premiership. FERNANDO YOU HAVE TO EARN IT.

I think the fact Keane has left could have a factor in that...agree or disagree?
Played in his more familiar position tonight will give him some confidence, have to say IMO he showed signs of a change in attitude..
Definitely.
Was half expecting Rafa to push Dirk up front and stick Ryan wide though. Glad he didnt.
If Babel is goin to be with us for a few years, the sooner he gets plenty of match time up front the better. Forget Dirk and Ngog, Babel should be no2 striker at the moment.

Proved againt that we have no belly going forward without stevie. I was hoping that Alonso would step up but was greatly let down. Someone needs to teach Lucus how to tackle. Leaving his leg in has cost us enough allready.

Positives-Gerrard injury doesn't look too bad,Dossena's improving,Tim Cahill got pelted with a sock,we have more time to rest for the BIG games,Ryan Babel looks like he will get more time in his preferred striker role where he won't sulk and has the ability to become world class,Everton's celebrations showed yet again the gulf in class and stature between the 2 clubs.Tesco will probably have a DVD of it tomorrow-Let them have their moment in the sun-we have eyes only for the big one this year.

Back to reality after the Chelsea game, glad I didnt get carried away with that result
Points to note
Lucas is inexcusable he will never ever make the grade, please stop calling him a Brazilian international it is meaningless.
Our set pieces are inexcusable
Our final delivery is inexcusable
We do nothing with so much possession. When Everton took the initiative after we went to 10 men they looked so dangerous. we mustard up nothing in 90 minutes
The book stops at Rafa - another shocking performance. At this stage I just cant see where we are going
Bring on the anti Liverpool abuse but this is my honest opinion of how things stand. Maybe Rafa is too close to see the problems but they are so glaringly obvious to me

Strangely enough when he first arrived I thought he was quite good at crossing-just shite positioning.Tonight was the other way round.Particularly in the first half i thought he showed a lot of enthusiasm, power and pace when bursting forward.Linked well with Riera imo.Crossing wasn't as good as it could have been but at least he seems to have improved (significantly) defensively. Also made a crucial slide tackle in the 2nd half which went unnoticed-the blueshite had us outnumbered on the counter.

Babel Riera Beayoun Kuyt have all scored winners, It wasn't Lucas who pushed on to Gerrards role it was Kuyt mate.

This is the 3rd defeat we have suffered since I joined this site. Sometimes like the Spurs league defeat, you just have to take it on the chin and move on.My take on tonight is quite similar. They were never gonna score against 11 men. The whining on here is very gay.
The Lucas bashing tonight is way over the top. He was decent enough 1st half, got a ridiculas 1st yellow and was left exposed and made an inexperienced discision on the 2nd yellow.
Same with Babel, thats the 1st time in months he has actually tried and he gets slated for it.

Lucas isn't everyones cup of tea but you have to admit his first yellow was so harsh-should nevver have been.It was just wiley levelling the playing field having already booked so many bitters. The 2nd foul was a situation where I'd normally be screaming for our player to pull them down and take the yellow(like we needed during walcotts run in cl last year). If he hadn't already been booked it would've been a very good card to concede. We needed someone to 'take one for the team' because they had numbers and momentum on the break and we were caught out.

Because they were the best team in the league / cup competition, unfortunately for us, LFC aren't.
As regards being negative, its hard watching LFC falter and throw away their best chance to win the division, in a season where their main rivals for the league have been so poor compared to the last couple of years.

Did anyone watch this on UTV last night. The commentator ( I think it was Clive Tyldesley) spent all night wishing an injury on Torres, just so he could keep mentioning the lack of strikers Liverpool have. Nearly threw the TV out the window when for the 10th time he either said "Torres seems to be limping" or "Torres seems to be struggling"!!!!!
As for Beglin taking the mickey out of Rafa and his signals... Well Jim, if you ever care to leave your cushy job going to games and giving us your insightful analysis and take up a top managerial job, then manage to win a Champions League, FA Cup, UEFA Cup and league titles, then maybe you can take the mickey out of Rafa, but till then shut the f**k up !!!!!

I was watching it on UTV, better commentators as Jim Beglin gives an honest opinion. At one stage in Extra time the channel loses it's connection..I switch straight to Setanta & Everton score...Absolutely sickened! Switched back to UTV & they were apologising toeveryone for missing the goal!
Anyone who said Babel was poor when he came on last night is as Ninja says is talkin out of there arse. If Babel was half as arsed in most games we'd be seeing alot more of him. Hopefully Keane going will be the kick in the back-side he needed.
Thought Dossena had a good game - if he get's the final ball right offers alot going forward in comparison to Arbeloa. He got caught badly for the goal as well. Thought Carra & Skretel especially were savage last night. Didn't deserve that deflection & to lose like that.
Id a feelin Lucas would get sent off. I don't know what it was but he kept leavin the boot in. Some will say the first yellow was harsh but I don't think it was. Presistent fouling and he deserved it. The referree had a great game last night It must be said.
Id be worried about Torres. He was extremely laboured last night. Took forever to get up after challenges and Jagielka had the beating of him every time. Hopefully he will regain total fitness soon but i am worried with Spain going all the way & the injuries he has had already this season.
Felt sorry for Alonso. Gave the ball away for the goal - should have gone long to babel instead of short but he had a good game besides.
In all fairness the F.A Cup was third choice in our priorities but last night would have been a massive match to win. Especially the way things panned out with Gerrard & Lucas. But not to be & Im hopin there will be no hang-over from this on Saturday. We have to build on our win over Chelsea & no better place to start than at Pompey. We're due to win one of these Setanta 5.30 kick-off's!
