    im getting a second desktop in my kids room,ive already got NTL broadband
    (cable modem box) in another room. can i hook the second desktop up to the internet via the existing modem? or do i need to get another modem?
    would be greatful of any help...cheers.:)

    should be able using the same modem

    u need another lan connection i think

    the cable going from the modem to first computer

    usually on the back of the modem u will have 4 lan ports

    just use one of them

    u might need to install the drivers off the modem on the new pc

    If there is likely to be a long (and untidy) cable run you could consider getting a wireless router and usb dongle for PC. Will cost you 80-100euro extra.
