Just got home from Czech rep and have a letter from FAI offering tickets for Wales game in November. Dunno if i should go for it or not. Anyone any thoughts on it? You think it be craic or just another friendly since were all but out of the loop.

Well at this stage it looks likely to be a game to decide who finishes 3rd in the group - exciting stuff :p

Have you booked travel over already? Flights to Cardiff and Bristol are gone a bit ridiculous price wise now, so unless your getting the ferry over, your looking at flying into Birmingham and I think prices for that have gone up too (according to skyscanner). Any Ireland game will be good craic, but Cardiff ain't one of those places you'd want to visit twice :)

Havent booked anything yet. Just looking for some ideas on whether it would be a waste of time and money to go over and just go to a pool game instead.

we cant afford to take our foot off the gas as 3rd place and the FIFA rankings will be vital for the World Cup qualification, I think it will be a good match and good atmosphere with the Irish and Welsh, am heading myself, never been to the Millenium stadium for a match before

Im going. Booked flights to Bristol return. Not staying overnight. Sent my form for tickets back last week. Tickets are a bit pricey though. Always welcome an opp to visit the Millenium stadium. Reds have spent many a happy afternoon there. Nice easy accessible ground.

it should be no bother getting them, the Welsh fans are a fickle lot, only 25,000 turned up to see them play Germany, the Welsh FA could take a leaf out of the FAI's clever marketing ( Fran Rooney's brainchild ) of making the bandwagon jumpers keep buying tickets otherwise they lose future allocations when they are good again ( Scotland and the North's turnaround should give them and us hope)

Your best bet is to fly www.flybmi.ie to Heathrow and hire a car. Flights are €72 today and car hire works out at €20 each if you have four in the car.Drive from Heathrow is about two and a half hours.Unless you already have flights booked to Bristol you wont pick any cheap ones at this stage. And the boat works out more expensive than this and is a longer drive.

One of my mates lives in Reading so were gona fly out to him and stay with him on the Friday and get the train up. It seams like so much less effort than other ways. We can get cheap enough flights to London and train direct from Reading.

Anyone any idea when you hear back from FAI about tickets?

Any chance your mate could put me and 5 mates up while he's at it :D

The FAI are about to send out the tickets for the two home games, once thats done I imagine they'll be onto you. Wouldn't be much worried about the likelihood of getting tickets though, after seeing the attendance of the Millenium Stadium for Wales v Germany there will be no hassle getting tickets, local international derby or not.

Driving out of Cardiff after a game is a complete pain. Chances are you will experience serious delays and you would be doing very well to get to Heathrow in 2.5 hours after the game.

Ah yeah sure theres 4 of us going over and he's only renting a room. 10 in a double bed? Im sure that be some sort of record.

Kind of thinking about staying in Cardiff now if i could get the accomodation. The whole point in going is for the craic....I think theres a match on too.

Any help of anywhere to stay? Hotels? Comfy corners to put sleeping bag in?

If you are looking for a good time then dont bother with Cardiff. It is terrible for football matches. Security everywhere is ridiculous particularly the night before. Stay in London, go out there and travel to Cardiff on matchday.
