I'm not going to Italy, cant get the days off work. Going to Sofia though, Thurs-Sun. Going with a mixture of Ryanair, Wizzair, and Bulgaria Air via London Luton/Gatwick. Staying in the Rodina.

We got 9,000 tickets for Bari, although cant see that many travelling midweek.

    Bump

Got the ticket form from the FAI. Tickets €3 plus €2 FAI Admin Charge!! This bodes well for a cheap trip. Is anyone going? Anyone ever been to Sofia?

Yes, its cheap and very charming. I found the locals, police etc very helpful. Make sure you use official taxi's particularly at the airport. You will get ripped off otherwise.

You will see why when you get there. We had prices like that back in the 80's, which is exactly where Bulgaria is at.

Don't suppose there's many going to see Ireland's warm up for this one against Nigeria in Fulham by any chance!

I know a few who are but im not going myself. Lovely area Fulham. Ground is old but has character unlike most of the new grounds. Located right beside the Thames. If it is a nice evening, it would be A1. You can even take a nice stroll through the park on the way to the ground, coming from the tube station.

There's a good club in covent garden that usually has a band on and music till late - can't remember the name of it but I think it's the main one in the square. Near the picadilly tube stop - Waxy O' Connors and Waxy's little sister are decent Irish bars

Thats where we hit the last time i was in london and i was failry impressed with them alright, there was another place across the road called O'Neills too which was pretty good and they're not too far from Leicster square which is a handy spot to get to.

If it is a nice evening, it would be A1. You can even take a nice stroll through the park on the way to the ground, coming from the tube station.

I was over at Stamford bridge in November and we got off at Fulham Broadway which i will assume is where Craven cottage is, always liked the look of craven cottage and i'm looking forward to getting over. hopefully there'll be a good few irish over for it!

Yeah Waxy's does decent Irish grub if you need a stew or mangers and mash to cure a hangover. Got lovely guinness in there once on a quiet day too!

No, Fulham Broadway is a fair bit away from Craven cottage. The stop for Craven Cottage is Putney Bridge. Thats 2 stops down from Fulham Broadway. If you are coming from central london, get the district or circle line to earl's court and then get another district line tube to wimbledon. You might be lucky and get a tube from central london (Victoria or Mansion House) direct to Wimbledon but they tend to finish at Parsons green which is the stop before Putney bridge.

When you reach Putney bridge turn left coming out of the station and walk towards Bishops park. Follow the path along the Thames and you will get to the ground. Its a good 10 mins+ walk.
