Was reported in the Mirror this morning as well

This time from Vital.co.uk Spurs site:

    http://www.spurs.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=71141

Lets say if the Torres deal doesn't go thru is Defoe really a viable option my answer would be NO. I'd say the general consenus would be the same?

I don't think a Spurs reject is the answer to our goals problem, and I don't think he would be to cheap ether.

Not a chance Rafa will sign Defoe unless its for a serious cut price (>8m). Just the papers filling up reading space as usual. Pay no attention.

Would be good but only as a backup striker. We would still need to sign a player of Torres caliber. Then sign Owen or Dafoe as backup especially if Bellamy and Cisse leave

Nah we have our back up strikers, Crouch, Veronin, Bellers if he stays, don't need Defoe, again wouldn't think theres too much to this one!

Dafoe would be a great signing.....

Now to ensure we are on the right lines we should also buy Pamela Anderson Jordan and Jodie Marsh.

I take that back...Dafoe is the biggest tit of all.

Dafoe to Liverpool... I extract my own spleen and post it to rick Parry

If we are buying him and it's not for below £5m, then I'll lose respect for Rafa I'm afraid .....

Having said that, this is only the English newspapers trying to interest English readers right now, so I won't read too much into it .... fingers crossed, it's only a loada rubbish
