anyone think that we could have an outsider to win..

mardle 70-1 (could be worth an each way)
    barney 7-1
    wade 17-2.

taylor the one too beat again but think its good prices for the likes of wade and barney..

barney and wade are the only ones capable of beating taylor but the way he's been playing for the past 6 months, no one will get near the cocky git, the power will walk it

That match with Taylor and Barney (think it was two years ago) was one of the best sports matches I have ever seen.

Barney is 7/1 on betfair, stuck a tenner on him..

Lads I am not up to speed on this own. So what's the story with the Russian woman? I know about her being a wild card entrant but is she still in the event?

There was a woman in it about 12 years ago and she won a set before losing to Graeme Stoddart, that was much more of a farce. We are talking about the woman's world champion here. I would count her losing the other day as an upset. I expected her to get to the first round and with a good draw (I think the guy Remco is playing is poor enough but can't remember the name) she could have made the 2nd round. She would have beaten any of the other preliminary round guys hands down apart from the fella from Tallaght and the yank he was playing who were actually half handy. She's good enough to beat most good darts players and at least mix it with some of the better ones. It is inevitable that she will make it into a 2nd round of a tournament at some stage or maybe better and I hope we don't have to put up with the owe my god she won a game' crap. She is a very good player and playing on the men's circuit will help her get her average up a few points, possibly to the high 80s or occasionally the low 90s, which would see her at least having a respectable showing in tournaments.

I was delighted for John magowan last night, he destroyed Mason and the 156 checkout was unreal. People may be more interested in the younger irish players, but he is the one with the pedigree. Let's not forget he is the only Irishman ever to make it to the Semi-Final of a PDC major. Not bad for a 67 year old. (He was 64 at the time but you know what I mean)

Oh and never mind Bristow, sure he supports the Chavs! ;)

You'll see her long before that, she's bound to be in PDC events throughout the year, the UK open at the very least.

I have to disagree there. Not that Taylor would be favourite, but that anyone else would be a surprise. Let's not forget that Taylor hasn't won it in 3 years, and while he has gone back to winning ways in the past season, he no longer breezes every tournament. Barney beats him most times that they play and to be honest if they meet at the business end of the tournament this year, I would expect him to again. Wade will eventually beat Taylor and maybe it will be in this tournament if they meet. Don't write off Van gerwen in the next round.

Taylor is justifiably favourite but I'll put my neck on the block and say Wade. He is the best player in the PDC after Taylor and this could be his time to lift the worlds, he has won pretty much everything else. I hope Mark Webster defects from the Boring Darts Organisation next year, he is a great talent too.

If Taylor wins it this year, I think we could begin to see him winding down on his career. In the same way that Fergie wants to wait until the scum win 19 leagues until retiring, I think Taylor will retire after winning 15 world titles. He will get to that I reckon, but I think people have to get out of this 'Oh Taylor's going to win it' attitude to every tournament. That day is gone, which is only good for darts as it was getting tedious. Don't get me wrong, Taylor is still by far and away the best player ever and is still on current form the best player at the moment, but other players are getting better as well.

Wade at 17-2 is ridiculous, should be way shorter than that, but worth a punt. I think I'll cough up a tenner on it.

Not a hope of Mardle winning it. He is the type of player who could be 6-0 up and 2-0 up in the 7th set and still lose 7-6 in the final. He will never win it and probably won't ever win a major. Frankly I hope he falls by the wayside eventually. His dancing about the place was a novelty for about a year, but he is just an irritating so and so now.

    Don't write off Lewis either.

Lewis goes through some terrible rough patches, pressure gets to him.

I like Klassen as an outsider, good win last night. Anyone have odds.

Wade wasnt great last night, he could have easily been a set down then under the kosh. Klassen is a good bet, with Jenkins and Part out already there will be a quarter of the draw that could see a hamilton or klassen type player get to the semis at least.

Stuck a tenner on Wade at 11/1 on betfair there....i read hes in the easier side of the draw so he should have a great chance of getting to the semis at least.

Well It wouldn't be his first time winning a world title as a rank outsider!

Cant see anyone getting near taylor, he destroyed Barney in City West and Barney hasnt really played well for a year or more now. Wade will be number 1 when Taylor finishes up but it would prob be rude not to stick ten euro on an outsider. :)
