http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/...objectid=19762723&siteid=50061-name_page.html Seems Peter wants to see how may games he'll get before christmas
I can help him out with this one. Until he learns how to head a fuc#ing ball goalwards on a consistant basis and stops crying out like a little (pardon the pun) bitch in the papers .................. far less than our other strikers I suggest
Bit harsh on Crouch there imo. His goals to minutes ratio is second to none. He obviously needs to improve his heading ability but he showed what he can do last season, anyone remember that perfect hat-rick? He can definately still do a job for us, if he has the patience. I can understand him waiting 'til after xmas before signing a new contract. He has only been in the squad 1 out of 4 games in the Premiership so far. If he doesn't get many league minutes you can understand him wanting to go elsewhere, although I'd hate to see him leave.
Was slightly (but not much more) tongue-in-cheek Mal. I remember the hat trick well and I prayed that it would see him kick off from there as he was outstanding and showed a hunger he hadn't before and unfortunately hasn't since. The simple fact of the matter is, for all his strenghts, build up play etc he is not a good enough finisher to be a first team regular. The Toulouse game summed up exactly why I don't think Crouch will at Anfield for much longer. He gets interviewed after the game and despite claiming no fall out with Rafa he was happy with his performance and was pleased with himself for scoring his goal which he hoped (as he said himself) would give Rafa something to think about. Nothing about the 3 gilt edged opportunities he had where not only he didn't score, he didn't come within an ass's roar of the goal Compare that to Kuyt who had run his boll~x off for 90 minutes and scored 2 goals - when interviewed he was disappointed as he had 2 other opportunities to score but didn't - who's attitude do you think Rafa would have been impressed with? With Torres firmly the number 1 striker, I feel Kuyt is second choice due to his phenominal work rate and it will be down to Crouch & Voronin to battle it out for effectively 3rd choice striker - Voronin is keeping his head down but scoring every opportunity he gets. I don't have a problem with Crouch Mal, I just don't think he is good enough to be a first team regular and I personally think some of he praise he has received (often justifiably) has gone to his head and he started to believe his own hype - Rafa will not stand for this and perhaps this is why he has featured so little this year so far. He will get games and I hope he does well and scores lots but I really can't see Crouch being here beyond this season
Some fair points there mate, especially with the point you touched on about Crouch thinking he's bigger(excuse the pun again) than the club. I never thought about the interviews in that way, but it clearly shows the difference in attitude between Crouch and Kuyt. I think he feels that no matter how well he plays he knows he's fourth choice striker at the moment, and next game he'll be out of the squad again. I personally like his all-round play and would be disappointed to see him leave. So get yer head down Crouchy and take your chance when you get it!!
..... which is why he needs to take a leaf out of Kuyt & Voronin's book, knuckle down and really take his opportunities when it comes around. In fairness to Rafa, he will make sure everyone gets to play but if he's got 3 strikers playing well and showing good attitude and one who is not taking his chances and moaning far too much openly, Crouch wil prove to be his own worst enemy I am actually surprised Parry allowed Crouch's contract to go this close without tying him down as his value will be decreasing each month now, not sure what we would get for him in January with only 18 months left of his contract
This is a disgrace crouch should be grateful for what rafa and liverpool have done for him.Granted hes a player ad he's going to want matches but he'll be in the same situation as the other 3,and i havent heard them moan once
I liked crouch before i heard this story about him.WTF is his problem??He will need to realise that he is in the liverpool squad like all the other players, and will find it hard to get into the team. You dont hear masch, hyp, momo etc....bitching about the fact that they dont start every game. The lad needs to learn some loyalty and remember if rafa had not stuck with him when everybody was calling him a lemon(including myself)then he would be with the likes of bolton and go through his career without a single medal.Grow up lad will ya
Good riddence, i suspect he'd would rather but a star player with us struggling in the league than be a squad player and 4th choice striker in a championship winning team. I mean look at the difference in class up front since Torres signed.
