Laptop/TV Connector

Can any recommend a Laptop/TV Connector. TV is a Samsung Plasma and the laptop is a 2 year old Acer?

Does the laptop have a hdmi out port? Hdmi cable to the plasma and your laughing. Cheap hdmi cable will do the trick.

You should have a dvi port at the back of your laptop...if you do, you should have no trouble getting a DVI to HDMI port at Maplin electronics or Peats, though they are expensive...

If you dont have a HDMI port you will probably need a S-Video cable which are about €12-20. You'll get one in a good electronics store

I went into Maplins yesterday and 3 metre cable (male to male) cost 37.99. Went onto ebay and got 5 metre for 12 quid including postage.

if you have a VGA connector on your tv ( blue connector) that will plug directly into the pc/laptop via a vga cable. I have this set up at home for movies etc - its brilliant

as for watchiing live tv streams on it - dont bother as it looks kak

I got one of those cables and its working (Took me a while to get the f5 key working).

Whats the story with the sound though, its still coming from the laptop, do I need another cable for that?

Got a samsung sync master 2032MW for chrimbo for the playstation.just got it set up as a monitior for my laptop-using it as we speak and its class.absolutely no problem with the resolution.watched some basketball match live there on sopcast and quality was brilliant.will be watching the newcastle game on it!


Getting a hdmi cable tomorrow.will that further enhance it or will that just improve ps3 graphics?cheers!

BTW-only thing i havent figured out yet is the sound-can only get the sound out of my laptop and not the actual telly!anyone know how to remedy this?!nice 1 lads.
