I am not the most well up boxing fan in the world but i have to say well done to her on her latest win ! Well done Katie!
I have a mate who lives for boxing. Her list of achievements is unbelievable. Unfortunately, she will probably never get the recognition she deserves. She is also an international on the womens football team. I hope womens boxing is allowed into the 2012 olympics. She should win gold and her skill will be recognised afterwards. Seen her interviewed a few times and she comes accross as a nice down to earth young lady as well.
Reder Agree totally - Katie's achievements are nothing short of amazing A credit to herself in terms of her dedication & the strong support of her Dad & Mam Another Bray success story! R
He was a Irish champion back in 86.She trains with the lads at her local club and apparently they don't hold back. She is in my opinion our top sports person and she is still very young.
i played footie with her father and she used to train with us and she certainly never backed out of a tackle. well done katie.
Great achievement even though I find boxing immoral. Saw her at Richmond Pk once and shes also kind of cute.
I think the most impressive thing about her performance was the manner in which she won, against a tall chinese opponent who didn't get a point until the last round...
That he most certainly does Liamo, I Played Soccer against him a few times and my lord is the man a tough Cookie I hope her Dad doent see that for your sake Well done Katie some Achievement, Totally dedicated to her Boxing and football, I wouls love to see her get the chance for an Olympic Medal. Sound down to earth girl aswell hasnt let it go to her head which is great to see
Well Done Katie Ive had a look around on what this girl has done and theres no doubt, this girl deserves an appreciation thread!!and get her decked out in LFC colours for her next gig..........Fantastic achievments.
seen her spar with the Joyce's in Athy and jaysus i wouldnt fancy pissing her off. Great achievement and shows the shame of giving sportswomen of the year awards to camogie players(nothing against them)but what Katie is doing is unmatched. If a man achieved what she has he would be given the keys to the country
Oh, dont get me started on those awards. There is no doubt that some camogie player will get it ahead of her. No disrespect to camogie players but what Katie has achieved is on a vastly different planet. Unfortunately, she has achieved wonderful heights in 2 garrison sports and the GAA driven media or panel wont let that shine through on the awards stage. Remember in 2006, the panel of "experts" gave the award to Henry Shefflin ahead of Derval O Rourke. The lad actually went up to her and apologised afterwards. There again im not slagging off Henry Shefflin and his ability but Derval's feat was on a truely world stage.
Yeah I agree, there's something about her thats quite nice, but u wouldnt mess her around!!!! But well done to her, great achievment and a lot more to come.
Katie is a brilliant ambassador for Irish sports. Virtually unbeatable in female amatuer boxing circles and a great soccer player too by all accounts. We should all be proud of her.
