    EUROSPORT :

You may remember last year, when United went out of their way not to sell Gabriel Heinze to their North-West rivals, off-loading him to Real Madrid instead.

Rafa Benitez has tried to fill the gap at left-back with several players, most recently Andrea Dossena, and all have been rubbish.

Real Madrid are in a state of civil war, with their players looking to jump ship like sailors on an oil tanker in Somali waters.

Consequently, Benitez has switched to his original target and is out to liberate Heinze from his Bernabeu hell. Or something.

Whatever, Fergie's reaction should be worth watching if Liverpool manage to move the Argentinian back into his old house in Cheshire.

I think he would be a great signing, far better than what we have!!!!

I agree 100% with ya here. Heinze easily better defensively and going forward then what we have0. Dossena is struggling how he is on the italian national team i dont know.

Have you seen him play since he left united? That article looks like it was written by a wannabe comedian from a panel show.

yep.and he is pretty much the same as when at united and is a better option than anything we have at the moment.

Well Heinze is definately better than Dossena for one thing, how much better is debatable and we also cant go out splashing £15m on a 'world class' full back so Heinze would be a better option.

That, and the fact it would drive whiskey nose mental makes it almost worth doing regardless especially if he scored the winner at Castle Greyskull

The only thing that I would be afraid of with this guy is his commitment. When he wanted to leave, he forced the issue and even talked about hiring lawyers to deal with it. Apparently he was treated exceptionally well by the club; they even paid for extended holidays for him while injured. He came back from all that and rather than fight for his place with Evra, decided he wanted out of the contract and off elsewhere. Therefore, it is questionable how commited he would be.

Don't get me wrong, good player, albeit haven't seen him since he left ManUre. Of course one could argue he's not a Solskaer who sits on their fat ar*e at one club doing feck all (injuries granted) bar scoring a couple of important goals that for some reason makes him a hero. So maybe he's driven and ambitious enough to want to be playing.

But remember if he's unhappy, he'll pack his bags and feck off elsewhere (mind you, that's a mantra that most footballers seem to adopt these days :()

It's likely he won't end up as a Winston Bogarde or Solskaer, being happy to do nothing for a wage. But if he joined the club, done exceptionally well, and other clubs came knocking? Say bye bye.....

i dont know-would love to see whiskey noses reaction to it ........... could be a decent signing.plenty of prem experience and wont need much of a bedding in period.already an improvement on dossena.could be good role model for fellow argentine insua and hes much older so wont halt his development by taking his spot in 3-4 years.also,if sami does move on,heinze is very good cover at center back.

Yeah any of the games i have seen for madrid, their defence has been all over the shop, and this is with Cannavaro playing beside him!! Nah i think i will pass on this guy, if Mascherano wants to get few of his other Argentina team mates to join though.....we will take a look at them :)

I was mad keen looking him to sign whenever he went to real- but his time has passed and i dont believe its the right thing to do to sign him now.

Aurelio is a steady full back, Insua has shown alot of promise. Dossena hasnt performed, but its too early to show him the door IMO.
