Saw the new bond last night and have to say i enjoyed it. Not as long as some of the other bond movies but packed full of action, shooting, cars and girls - what more do you want Just a heads up, you need to see casino royal before you view the new one as this film is a follow on from the previous film and you will be lost if you dont know what is going on
Have not seen the movie yet but yes he does not say that line,heard it in a interview.I like what they are doing with Bond making him a lot darker.I loved it in Casino Royale when bond is asked Shaken or Stirred and he replies "Do I look like I give a damn?". The new bond girl looks hot as hell.
i dont recall him saying it, but i wasnt aware of that rumor so i didnt pay much attention to the fact
yeah i think with the whole bourne franchise taking off it now has a rival in a market which they owned,so changes were needed,i thought casino royale was a top show aswell,the torture scene was brilliant,but i agree that a darker bond makes for more exciting viewing.
The darker Bond is a nice change alright but I think the films should keep some of the old lines, music and characters (I heard Q isnt in the movie for a second time). These are what makes Bond movies different from Bourne movies etc.If you take all these away it just ends up being another action movie.

Its a solidish action movie but a completely crap Bond. The Bond theme and gun sight that has opened every movie since Dr. No now ends the movie. There is no 'Bond, James Bond' line. It also has the worst Bond theme ever and I like Jack While and Alicia Keys. The whole movie is about Bond tracking down the people behind what Vesper did (who is mentioned about 20 times in the film) at the end of Casino Royale [SPOIL]in drowning herself to protect Bond[/SPOIL] and also finding out why yet at the end all you know is the 'Quantum' is behind it but have no clue what they are or where Vesper ties in so what was the point of the film as nothing has been resolved. You also must see Casino Royale before to have a clue whats going on and lastly and I think most insulting to Bond fans is not only are they trying to make Bond more like Bourne they actually rip off one entire action sequence from The Bourne Untimatum i.e. the rooftop chase and fist fight at the end but do a poor mans half assed version of it.
Saw the film last night. In summry the action seasons were excellent ,the plot very weak and confusing. I enjoyed Craig as a hard nosed Bond. I think where it seriously falls down is the absence of a strong villian character.
Yeah saw it last night, Leave your brain at the door & just take it for what it is & you will really enjoy this film

watched it earlier,i enjoyed it,good fast paced show,not your typical bond movie,but loved the dark side to him,seems like this is the direction bonds going,suppose after 40yrs a change may have been needed,not that devout bond fans will agree.
I think most devout bonds wont agree as you say. The fact is Bond is Bond, not Jason Bourne to turn him into a brooding killer is taking the essence of the Bond movies away and just turning the franchise into becoming generic action movies that if he didnt say his name was Bond (and he didnt even do that in this one) you wouldnt know it was Bond movie you were watching. I know Bond was actually written the way Craig plays him but the movies went another way which sets them apart from all the other spy movies. There has to be a better way of updating Bond and I read an interview with Michael G Wilson the producer of the Bonds and he has said that the next movie will be a stand alone film and not connected to Casino & Quantum to get back to the old Bond so they are not even going to finish the Quantum story.
Thought this was a good follow on from Casino Royale. Great action, amazing locations and the hottest bond girl in decades. I miss the gadgets,Bond lines and the theme though. Craigs cold, dark Bond is starting to just look boring and expressionless so I hope this changes in the next movie.
