Yeah best player ever for me too.

But I always got the impression he was half-mad. Certainly would be interesting to see how he would do

I just cant see this happening, unbelievable brilliant genius player, but leading Argentina, when they need stability? I just cant see it happening, I kind of dont want to see it happen either, because I would hate for it to backfire on him and it might tarnish his legendary status in Argentina football, even just a bit.

The Chap is mad, When he was coaching teams in Argie, He was fighting with refs if decisions went against his team. He was banned from managing for a while

If he does get the job, he'll definitely have some great backroom staff around him...he only has 6mths professional managerial experience in 13 years! I think his would be first fixture is Scotland, so we will see him in all his glory...

It could go brilliant like Beckenbheaur or it could go terrible like Keegan.
Has he any managerial experience at all?

masher was only saying last week he'd love for maradonna to be their new manager, maybe he knew something we didnt.he's an inspiration for argentinian players, half the battle is having the respect and lets be honest that team picks itself so it wouldnt take a tactical genius to run that outfit,in my eyes he has nothing to lose, and everything to gain.

it's a gamble as with him on board they would want at least a copa america and world cup semi place. no doubts he would be insperational but one defeat and he would be under un-workable pressure. He hasn't exactly had a great time with the media so they wouldnt give him an inch if the results were not going great.

the media are constantly on his back since his career ended, this could be his chance for redemption,if he fails it'll be nothing new to him but if he suceeds ... then thats an entirely different story,i for one dont want to remember the most gifted player ive ever seen for stories of drug use and madness, hence my point he has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

He got it under control and has lost a lot of weight through diet and surgery. Think he's been of the drugs for a good while. I would love to see him do well but this appointment stinks of desperation.

As with most geniuses , flawed.
Best footballer I have ever seen , even above the King himself .

Can’t see him being able to stay focused on the sideline as a manager .
As One of the most excitable football supporters I have ever seen(he was watching boca ) will he be able to stay emotionally detached as manager when they need a tactical substitution or alike?

He will deffo get 100% respect off the player that for sure .

They have some quality players so good luck to him.
