If he can't get into the Bolton team, how can he expect to get into the Ireland team. His nose has been put out of joint because Gibson and Whelan started the last game and they are hardly household names. On another note, I saw an article on Rory Delap at the weekend. Only ever had one competitive game for Ireland and he was in Premiership for most of his career. I imagine if he got another call up he would be delighted. For the talk of Andy Reid, he came off the bench for Sunderland in the 90th minute at the weekend.
with a bit of luck he'll convince paul mcshane to follow him into exile.... he'd be doing us a massive favour
Some players think they have a devine right to been in the Irish squad. Getting called into the Irish squad should not be a devine right but an honour and a privilege.
F**k off joey u useless s**thead. I hate all these clowns that think they deserve a place in the national side, they seem to forget that it should be a huge honour to play for your country and they have to have to perform for clubs before they get into the national side.
he's a good player but god he has shot himself in the foot with this! Trap will no doubt be un-impressed by this out burst, and like the Ireland situation big Jack is right quite crying yea big softie and grow a pair
it stuns me that players would even consider walking away from the country at such a young age i'd give me left nut to get a chance.
is that why we look so un-balanced? Seriously though it grinds my gears when players come out with this shite, fair enough when there headin in to there 30's and not getting a fair crack but he's what in his early twenty's and off he goes moaning to the press. To be fair to the lad i would have had him in the starting line up a head of that donkey McShane (i actually think it's an insult to a donkey cause it can stay on it's feet) but the new manager is going with what he sees best and it's getting results so knuckle down and get in the team on merrit.
Yeah it's happening way too often now (look at Scotland too). Playing for your country doesn't seem to matter as much to a lot of modern players
carra ''walked away'' from his country too mate-does that make him a prick aswell. I dont like any player saying that they deserve a place in the team but in fairness to the lad i can see where hes coming from.he knows and accepts that hes behind both finnan and kelly in the pecking order-and rightly so,theyre better and more experienced players.all he can do is knuckle down and impress when given the opportunity.then the one time that the two right backs are out,the manager opts to playing a donkey of a centre half out of position instead of giving him the chance to show what he can do. same in the midfield dept. - steven reid out long term, carsley out of the picture, andy reid out of favour, not to mention the stephen ireland farce, yet trap plays a stoke reserve and the mancs 10th choice centre mid. I dont know about you but If I was flying around europe and training every day but then having to sit in the stands(especially during an injury crisis) I WOULD BE ROYALLY PISSED OFF! Not saying that trap was right or wrong to leave him out or that o'brien should start........i can just understand his frustration!
It's a different situation with Carra he had been there for near a decade and he said right enough's enough i have gave it me best and didnt get the crack at the whip so i'll concentrate on keepin fit for club. With O'Brien he's only been around a wet week so he hasnt exactly given it his all and he's not even getting his game for one of the lesser teams! The lad needs a good clip around the ear and needs to knuckle down.
