Just a post to see what you guys think of new man Babel. To be honest, i hadnt heard much about him before coming to anfield but i should have. He is amazing. From the way he connects so well with the ball to his speed and his goal on Sat was subline (as was torres, taken like a professional!). It so good to watch all players working so weel together and it just shows that now we can afford to rest the likes of stevie and jamie, and have the confidence to go out and win. Although cant predict the team rafa puts out now lol

A true star in the making. Think the fact he has come in at the same time as Torres means there is not the same expectancy on him, and this could help him flourish.

the dummy and the finish for the goal was great
good to see out wingers hugging the touchlines and running at defenders again

He has the aggresive greedy shoot mentality, certainly requires very little space to get a shot off.

It's always much easier playing with a winning team, but I do think he's quite raw in terms of tactical ability.

    One for the future.

He did score a damn good goal yesterday and he did work his heart out all game but the jury is still out as far as I am concerned in the terms of commanding the game and tactical awareness

I was very excited when we signed him during the summer. I saw him a good bit in the Euro under 21 championship and he was lightning.

I actually think his best position is as support striker. Not sure if he will play wide in the biggest games of the season, can see JAR in for them.

People forget he is only 20

He will settle over the next few games and we should see his true potential then.

He looks a very exciting player who can play in any attacking position. He is still a bit raw round the edges but theres no doubt the kid has bagloads of potential and he's in the right place. He's only getting better. Its great see a young lad in the ranks not afraid to try a bit of skill and flair to beat a player.

Top strike on Sat, very impressed so far.

I don't think he's been as impressive as Torres or Voronin so far but considering he's only 20 and still finding his feet in the premier league it's been a good start for him. But i think it's obvious this kid has a touch of class. In a couple of years I think he could have the same impact Ronaldo has had an Utd.

Until his goal on Saturday I had reservations to be honest. He was hesitant, and seemed reluctant to take a defender on on the outside, like Pennant would.

But the goal was brilliant, and shows what he's capable of. I think it gave him confidence for the rest of the game, and I expect to see much better from him in the future. He is still only a kid after all.

Didnt know anything bout him before he arrived but Im happy with what Ive seen so far. The new players have settled very quickly this season unlike previous years/signings.

TBH I thought he was poor on saturday untill he scored. Seemed to be unsure of himself, not a great 1st touch and put himself under pressure straight away. Once he scored he played much better, obviously relaxed him considerably and the confidence flowed. Defo has the raw talent and if he gets his confidence from a run in the team then great. But not getting my seal of approval just yet.

described as an uncut diamond by the experts, but if sats goal is anything to go by lets hope rafa learns how to cut and polish diamonds... look forward to seeing how he progresses.

Was at the Derby game and was looking at the new boys play when they were off the ball. I thought Babel is just as good off the ball as he is on it. He's made of muscle as well so the rough and tumble of the Premier League shouldn't be an issue. Give him a few years and the other major clubs will be trying to steal him from us.

From what we'e seen so far this season, I'm totally impressed. He's strong, can hold his own space and has a lethal shot. He reminds me of Kanu when he started.

As everyone has said, Babel can only get better, so young, great signing, can't wait for more from him!
