Argos worth a look also. They often have bundles like buy a WII and get 50% off a game. There are threads on here with game recommendations. Mario Kart is v good.

I got my own in Tesco when they had 25% back in clubcard points over the summer. Might be worth keeping an eye out for again.

Depending on kids ages WII Play may be worth buying also. Has multiple games (more suitable for younger kids) and an extra controller included.

tescoes always have good prices on new released games. gta4 was 40 euro the day it came out. not saying buy it but its an example. halo3 was the same and fifa 09 was cheap also so they do good prices.

I'd check smyths and argos for wii bundles as they usually do good deals for big packs

I wouldnt wait too close. The last 2 christmas' these sold old out weeks before in most large towns and you had to scavange to find them. Second controllers in particular tend to be gold dust.

I remember last in in HMV in grafton street they were out of stock for weeks coming up to Christmas and a week before they got a shipment in and left the boxes next to the counter and they were gone between lunchtime when I got one and 5pm when I went back to get my brothers which was over 100 sold that they didnt event bother to waste time putting on the shelves.

That ebay deal is not great at all!

€250 will get you Console + Wiisports (includes 1 wiimote and 1 nunchuck)
€50 will get you wii play (comes with an extra wii mote)
    €25 for another nunchuck
    ~€100 for wii fit
Total = €425 (for the exact same stuff)

    Ebay total is about €490

    EDIT:
BTW dub, teh wii is fairly gimmicky for accesories in my experience they are mostly a waste of time.

If you have a LCD TV I highly recomend component cables ($5 delivered) they greatly improve picture quality of most games.

Invest in some rechargable batteries, the wii motes are fairly power hungry. You can buy 4 decent rechargable AA in Aldi for less than a fiver ( you will need to buy a charger for them if you don't already have one). I wouldn't be to bothered about the wii battery packs that you'll see around, they cost more than the standard battery and they wont last as long. Also note that wifit board takes batteries (4x AA i think, Im pretty sure some come with it but check to make sure)
