Has anyone seen this film or read the book?. I got it out on dvd last night and I have to say it's one of the most moving and powerful films I've ever seen. I'd highly recommend it.

read it last week on hols and it was definately the most moving book i have ever read. I'm usually quite cold reading a book, i don't get caught up in it, but this was a special one.
Flight got delayed for 5 and a half hours and i was quite content to sit on the floor and read!!

Didn't know there was a film out there. Have to check that out.

Another memorable book i read recently is 'The Road'. Quite a traumatic read but so worthwhile.

Would love to have read the book but have probably ruined it for myself by watching the film first - doh!.
We were just browsing in xtravision last night and decided to give it a go. Didn't know much about it.
Really great film, it had me in tears through alot of it. Some bits of it are heartbreaking and one scene in particular was very hard to watch - I was in bits watching it, but excellent film.

Read the book and saw the film. Lots of stuff left out in the film, but always happens when they convert books to films.

A Thousand Splendid Sons is the author's (can't think of his name) other book and that's an excellent read also...
