Konami has signed a four-year deal with pan-European club competition the UEFA Champions League; two Premierships teams joining the line-up for 2009. Details for the latest instalment in Konami's annual football franchise, Pro Evolution Soccer 2009, were unveiled today. The biggest announcement was that the publisher has signed a four-year exclusive contract with the UEFA Champions League. The deal allows Konami to "use all elements and attributes of the competition to create an exclusive UEFA Champions League mode within the PES game," according to a statement. Commenting on the agreement, Konami Europe president Kunio Neo said, "This deal showcases our commitment to taking PES 2009 forward in terms of licences and realism. The UEFA Champions League is the jewel in the club competition crown, and is just one of many innovations we have lined up for the new game." Two of the top English teams in the Champions League will also be making an appearance this year. Manchester United will be playable, much to the delight of Cristiano Ronaldo fans, whereas those that fancy themselves as Steven Gerrard can play as Liverpool FC. Both Old Trafford and Anfield will be playable. MCV also reports that Wembley will also be available as a venue, thanks to a deal which sees Pro Evo becoming the official game of the England football team. Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 will be released in the UK & Ireland on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on October 17, with the PlayStation 2 version to follow on October 30, and PlayStation Portable on November 6. A Will version is planned for spring 2009. Taken from Gamespot.com Anyone here looking forward to this game ??? looks brilliant doesn't it .. you can install mp3 football chants into the game aswell, I can't wait to put scouser tommy on it.
I'm sure it's for both 360 and PS3 since they have Hard drives, it's not official yet but its all over the PES forums
Pictures look savage, takes me back, used to play ass load of PES at college, have been neglecting it since! Might treat meself to a PS3 after Xmas and see if i can get back into it!!
Looks absolutely class. Can't see carlsberg being on the jersey in the final game though. No way a beer could be advertised in a video game.
I never thought of that .. but it is what it is and thats the official video from konami so it must be on it
I cant bloody wait. Have been updating squads on PES 2008 and FIFA 08. Cant wait for the new kits etc. WOnder how game play is? THere were some major issues on the PS3 that although the patch improved, didnt completely resolve. I hope they didnt rush it this time
It does but I hope the gameplay has improved since last years one which was a disaster, I switched over to FIFA last year after 10 years of playing PES it was that bad but FIFA gameplay is just not the same and I hope new PES will make me change back over
Didn't realise they had it in FIFA, never played it. Agree with Rasta though gameplay has to be a huge improvemnt on the last game. It was the one thing pro evo had over FIFA but last couple have narrowed the gap. Hopefully this one will groundbreaking in gameplay as well as looks.
