This is the ugliest thing in football imo so I thought it's well worth posting:

    SSN:

The Football Association have submitted a report to Fifa and asked them to investigate allegations of racial abuse aimed at Emile Heskey during England's victory over Croatia.

Home fans at the Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb were heard making monkey chants towards the Wigan striker after he was booked, which he described afterwards as being made by 'ignorant people'.

"I just continue to play my game and we have to let The FA directors deal with this," Heskey told reporters after the game.

"They are ignorant people and we should ignore them and enjoy the game.

"Even the Croatian people were not very happy to hear those noises."

    Unacceptable

A spokesman for the FA said: "We can confirm that we will be making a report to Fifa about the racist chanting aimed at Emile Heskey by some Croatia fans during the World Cup qualifying game in Zagreb.
"It is unacceptable for anyone to be subjected to racial abuse and we will be asking Fifa to investigate this.

"The FA and England team are determined to do all they can to eradicate any form of racism from football and society."

Croatia were given a small fine during Euro 2008 for racist abuse from their fans during the game against Turkey, and they could escape a heavy punishment this time as the chants were made by a small section of the crowd in Zagreb.

FFS, this sort of thing is never acceptable, no matter how small of crowd that does it. Hard to believe in this day and age that people can be so ignorant and vile.Heskey had a great game last night I thought.

I dont know, I would assume they were all getting it? Cant say I noticed it to be honest, remember the Spain "friendly" few years ago in Madrid, not sure if Heskey was playing but Wright Phillips was anyways, the monkey noises were disgusting and blatantly noticeable on the TV.

These allegations follow almost every England away game in Europe. I'm not sure if they're all true.

There's very little smoke without fire mate. Sure, it's possible, but sadly it's more likely to be true than not.

The fact that this kinda of thing is even suggested, be it proven or not, is sick and definitely not anything I'd ever want to be associated with.

I say that, as I don't hear of other team's black players getting abused. That asks two questions?? Is it just England players?? Or are those at the match misinterpreting boos/catcalls/jeering as racial abuse??

Are you for real mypost, its rampant all over Euope and not confined to English players.

    Marco Zoro for Messina
All black French players v Lithuania
De beesley and Decharville playing for Rangers
    Ince playing for Inter
Current Reading Player Bikey when he played in Russia
Justin hoyte playing for Eng u21s v Serbia
Aragones views on Henry to rev players up
Milan Baros spell at Lyon was tainted with racists taunts he made
German player Asamoah has been targetted for years
Eto'o in Spain victim of the monkey chant syndrome, check out the game v Zaragoza v Barca '06

The upshot been other teams black players do get abused its worldwide, not just a "pick on the english" problem.
Its a fcukin disgrace and anyone caught at it should be battered imo!
Theres no way people are misinterpreting the sounds,no chance.

it happens everwhere and fifa dont punish the nations that do it as in the case of spain. 1st aragones called henry a "black shit" during training and 2nd the spain england match where black players heard monkey chants whenever they were invovled with play. as far as i know all they recieved was a 90k fine. how does that type of punishment stop people????

Anyone remember Digger Barnes playing for LFC kicking bananas off the pitch after been pelted by bluenoses in the 80s.
Its a credit to the game(and the fans)in England how its moved on so far from this kind of shite yet the problem is so rampant on the continent.

    Great post Azzkikr!

If I was ever next to somebody shouting racist shite at a match I'd escort them from the ground myself. No place in football or society for that sort of thing.

This is the second incident with Croatia fans racially abusing a player.
They need to cop themselves on and ban anyone involved.

There should be zero tolerance when it comes to racism.

I'm probably too young to remember it :) but i remember my brother cracking on for years how he had a picture cut out from some newspaper which had digger backheeling a banana when he was standing near the sideline to take a corner or free kick?

*edit* if you google "john barnes banana" its the first image in images..........but i cant post it because of stupid work filter
