Looking forward to seeing how the young lads get on alright. No sign of a team yet, hope Darren Gibson gets a start - bit of a tussle between the Republic and the North over him, would be nice to see him finally get a senior cap.

Good stuff alright - Danish defense was a bit slack but great stuff from Shane Long up front, in particular they was he muscled off his man for his second goal. Big difference from this time last year when we were hammered 0-4 by the Dutch at home.

Danish keeper shocking though, still some promising displays.

Potter stole the show last night, if you take away the goals.
Played excellent, don't think he gave ball away once.

Team played well, and deserved the win.

Impressed by Potter, had a great game. Whole team played good football and kept the ball well. Now to keep that spirit going into the competitive matches.

Staunton has really become the scurge of scandanavia. Is it some form of revenge against his viking heritage. Id say Norway will be keen to sign him as their next manager.

In fairness it was a good performance but its only a friendly and agger didnt break a sweat. Ill judge them on competetive games.

See that knob in the star, Paul Lennon?

He gave him 5 out of 10 for the match . Was that C**t watching the same game?.

This is what he said exactly: Found The Step Up From Championship Football A Large Task And Only Showed His Mettle On Few Occasions Until Withdrawn.

Paul Lennon should actually watch the games on future, the Knob!!!!

Good performance, great result, hard to know though, it was only a friendly at the end of the day.

It has given Stan a bit of a selection headache for the Slovakia and Czeck games though. Hopefully we've finally seen the end of Kilbane in a green shirt and one of the younger lads will be given a go. Personally i'd like to see the following team:

    Given
    Finnan
    Dunne
    McShane
    O'Shea
    McGeady/Hunt
    Ireland
    Carsley
    Reid
    Keane
    Doyle

Good team. Nice balance. Another option maybe carr at right back (is he back?) finnan left and o shea in mid field for carsley.

O'Shea wouldn't be strong enough in midfield for me...I'd certainly have hom in the back line, and Carsley would be in my team. Personally I would have Hunt on the left and McGeady on the Right, with Carsley and Reid in the centre...the rest picks itself...

Very impressed with last night's performance. I am starting to come round to Steve Staunton after bashing him for so long. Roll on Slovakia and Czech Republic!!!!!!!!!!

I would definitely urge caution ahead of the two games coming up. I'm not so sure Stan will have the balls to play Andy Reid in the middle of the park like he did last night, where he played a blinder. While its always good to win any game, I hope the players keep the heads down in two weeks and stretch every sinew in their body to grind out results in what will no doubt be much tougher games than last night.

I think Lennon is quite good, who did he give that rating to?

I don't get people now start jumping up and down after a friendly win over a poor danish team? We weren't even good, it was poor, and Staunton was still terrible, playing Finnan out of position for Carr?!? Carr is a fat, useless so and so...

Henderson is a joke aswell, how staunton can't even look at the some of the goalies in ireland is rediculous, Barry and Brian Murphy are both as good as if not better than the ones 'Stan the man' picked.

I'll eat my words if when it comes to the important games we can show up, but barely see us winning 1-0, let alone 4...

    FAI=Joke, Staunton=Joke

Potter. Played a lot better than that rating.

You know you can never please some people! That Danish team has some excellent players, not to mention few Champion league final players in it. The danes might not have turned up for most of the game the other night, but the players Stauton used did the job well and some good prospects were seen, sure isn't that what friendly games are all about blood new players.

We have some excellent players and yet we scrape by San Marino away, and Cyprus put 5 past us? I'm not saying i'm not pleased with some aspects, i'm happy with winning 4-0 no matter where really, but some people are going a little overboard and not seeing the bigger picture!

Ah now there was nothing terribly convincing about any of the players or the performance...
