A Premier League tribunal has ruled that Gabriel Heinze will not be allowed to move to Liverpool. The Argentine international had requested the Premier League intervene, when Manchester United refused to sanction his departure to Liverpool. Heinze looked to be on his way out of Old Trafford in the summer, when the club invited offers from European sides, but the player set his heart on Anfield. Uncertain future United have remained adamant in their stance that Heinze would not be allowed to join a title rival and this viewpoint has now been vindicated by the Premier League. Sir Alex Ferguson and United officials have always maintained that Heinze could leave for another country, for a fee of around £6.8million, but it remains to be seen whether he still has a future in Manchester.
I sure hope you copied that from a website shri,i reckon you did as not many if any people on here would address that guy Ferguson with sir Anyways im not a huge fan of Heinze ,i just wanted him to win his appeal to tick off anything or anyone interested in utd
Cant seem him playing for the dirty Mancs again anyways, will Rafa go after another defender or settle on the squad we have?
had to laugh at a Manc mate of mine who rang me earlier to gloat cos Lpool aren't allowed to sign Heinze.haven't heared a dicky bird from him since the Season started........ i said ages ago i wouldn't be too bothered if he didn't sign and i stick by that now.
They really do have the law on their side. I think he could have done well. We desperately need centre half cover. If carra or agger get injured, our season is over.
Can't say I'm bothered. Said that at the start, and still sticking by it - I'm surprised Rafa let it be pursued as far as this. Hopefully he has had a backup plan all along cos I don't think Arbeloa being our left back for the whole season will be very beneficial for our title hopes.
I think it's a loss...we do need cover for full back, and he was also badly needed cover for centre half...i'm just not too comfortable with Hyypia coming in as cover in the big games if anything was to happen...also, he was a goal threat from set pieces...
ah its hard to say if he would have become a rejuvenated player coming to us. Hasn't looked the same since he was injured. Also I think this will be brought to UEFA or FIFA. If we really want him.
Hi Firstly everyone, can you please go easy on the bad language, we have people of all ages visiting the site, so can't really have it on the open forums ... not to say I disagree with comments previously made btw ) Personally, I was very unsure how this ruling would go .... Obviously, the mancs were likely to win, given their little love affair with the Premiership heads etc ... But on the other hand, this whole area around movement of employment etc is a mega legal issue and to be honest, what we've seen here is the Premiership enforce a rule which prevents a worker from working where he wanted to work etc. I'd bet this one is off to Europe ... As for us, we defo need another player to cover us, so I suspect Rafa has another fella in mind to bring in, now this appeal has failed. No doubt it's unsettled the manc squad a bit too, so this has not all been bad
I don't think is the end of the Heinze saga, he really does seem to be wanting a move only to Anfield. If Utd don't let him leave as i think he is appealing the result of the panel. I have a feeling this saga could run much longer if the appeal was rejected. Heinze could go higher than football authoritys and possibly the court of human rights
Galacticos to grab Gab - Report Real Madrid have agreed a fee of around £8million with Manchester United for wantaway defender Gabriel Heinze, according to reports in Spain. Spanish newspaper Marca claims that a fee of around 12 million euros has been agreed between the two clubs for the Argentine left-back, who has been prevented from joining Liverpool. It is thought United are happy to sell him to a club outside of the Premier League and so it could be up to Heinze whether he wants to return to Spain. The Argentine star is apparently planning an appeal against the Premier League ruling which denies him the chance to join Liverpool. He could be faced with a tough decision - take the exit route to Madrid or pin all his hopes on an appeal that could fail and see him stuck at Old Trafford.
Thought this would be the end outcome alright. Not too bothered but would have been nice to get one over on ole red nose
May not be over yet. If he appeals, the 3 man team who will sit on the panel will include a representitive from the PFA who you have to assume will side on the player's rights and recognise his position at the Scum as untenable This could run & run, depending on how far Heinze wants to take it - suppose it will come down to 1) how far he wants to go, 2) if he wants to take the "easy" way out and sign for another team or 3) if we decide to pursue other options in case it doesn't work in our favour and it's too late to recruit alternatives
I know he could take it to the higher powers but as a player I'm sure he doesn't want to be sitting in the stands lookin at Ferguson's ugly mug all season, with the small hope a move to Liverpool MAY be completed in the future. If Real are in for him he'll go there I think as he isn't getting any younger...
