Well Torres made his home debut in some style, I reckon Torres will net quite a few goals this season and I couldn't not see him scoring against Chelsea, I just feel he is a man for the big game. The future looks bright.

Thought he looked good. Doesn't do a huge amount when defending, but then has Kuyt to do that. Certainly gives us what we haven't had in the last few seasons. While Bellamy had pace never used it in an effective way.

Was at West Ham game last year for Bellamy and Kuyt's home debuts and was at Anfield on Sunday and certainly Torres has far more potential to score goals and create openings by his ability to beat his man.

Torres worked hard and his link up play was good will improve as the season wears on. Took his go with calmness personified. If that was Djibril Cisse in that position he would have blasted it straight at the keeper.

He impressed me anyway, massive relief for the lad to score in such a big game on his home debut.....Took it really well and I can't see too many defenders having him in his pocket this season.

Be interesting to see if the Kuyt-Torres partnership works.....Dirk chases when their defence has it and drops in deep when we do and links up well with the midfield. Torres looks to stay quite central usually playing off the last defenders shoulder, his movement looks very impressive. So I think their contrasting styles will compliment each other and Rafa considered this when making Torres his #1 target.

If between them they can get 30+ goals our league position should improve big time on last year

The last time I was this excited about a new player was John Barnes. I literally couldnt wait to see him play. I now feel that way about Torres. That goal against chelsea was sweet, and I really thought Terry was showing the strain.

I know that he didn't score today but jeez you could see the promise in Torres. Some great attempts on goal; only kept out by brilliant goalkeeping
