    Hi,

I was wondering what people's initial opinion of this guy is.

I think he looks lively and seems to pack a powerful shot. He has some nice touches, but not the same repetoir for getting around players as Pennant. His cross yesterday (for riises chance) was sweet, which may be a sign of potential for a better end product than pennant

I know ive said this before but I think he may develope into a very good centre forward. I suppose we will have to wait and see on that though

He definitely has the capability to become a great player for us, however I'm not so sure how much we'll see of it this season. I've seen runs and touches from the lad in pre-season which make me very excited about this fella - and could have grabbed a goal for us against Villa. I hope he turns out to be the real thing, but I'd like to see him have more a go at running at players and taking them on, the lad has tonnes of pace and should he get past anyone he'll leave them for dead.

He looks like a very good talent. Tonnes of pace and he seems to be a confident lad. His running style looks a bit awkward but maybe thats just the way he is. I remember Ronaldo had a very weird way of running with the ball when he started off at United. Hopefully Babel will be as good as him.

He looks like he could be a quality player. People forget he is only 20. Would have liked to have seen him take on Chelsea a bit more, was unlucky with his shot. The trouble for him is that there are so many other players for the positions:rolleyes:

I reckon this lad will be a big player for us this season.
I know he didnt score, but the way he took that shot yesterday with power and in such a suprising manner, it showed that we now have a couple of players who can maybe get that goal we badly need out of nothing, the way other teams have done over th last few seasons, henry, van persie, reeoey ronaldo etc,

Ye he will do very well for Liverpool and will weight in with a few goals I reckon. Interesting the way he signed when the former Head of the Ajax Academy took over from Stevie Heighway. He must have told Rafa to go get this kid!

he's really good alright. Seemed to be a negative reaction when he first came on other boards put with every performance he seems to get better.
Needs a bit more but he kept yossi out of the team yesterday..says it all really.. =p

In his brief cameo's in the premiership he has shown his potential. Like to see him given a start against the Mackems on Saturday to see how he can go

Very different type of player to Pennant. Noticed on Sunday that a few times when he initially came on and played on the right that he was looking for the ball over the top from Finnan which is very different to the Finnan/Pennant way which is ball to feet with the emphasis on retaining possession. With Babel likely to lose possession more often but also likely to create more opportunities. Will be interesting to see his progress but would think that his starting opportunities will be limited to the lesser matches.

Hope he starts on Sat on the left with Pennant on the right. Has shown glimpses of brilliance in his short appearances so far, theres no doubt he isn't short of confidence to take on a man or to try the spectacular from anywhere around the box.

Still a bit raw I'd imagine, this season will be his learning curve I think next year he will be a massive player for us. From watching him so far he sometimes takes on a bit much instead of letting the ball do the work, but 1st impressions are very promising

Agree with Mal - would like to see him on the left and Pennant on the right Saturday. Been encouraged by Babel - reckon he could get a good few goals for us this year. I know he wants to be considered as a forward long term. From what I have seen of him at Ajax he is well able to ghost past players and he has been fairly unlucky not to open his account for us yet
