Think clarke could be one of the wildcards after his win today.

He cant make auto selection and he is vying with Paul Casey and Monty for a wildcard place afaik, i cant see him making it myself.

Who are the possibilities for the 2 wild card picks?

    Monty? Clarke? Casey? Poulter?

Are those the main 4 after a wild card?

European Ryder Cup captain Nick Faldo handed his two wildcards to England's Paul Casey and Ian Poulter.

The pair complete the 12-strong team after Justin Rose, Soren Hansen and Oliver Wilson sealed the last three automatic qualifying spots.

The decision means Colin Montgomerie misses out on making a ninth Ryder Cup team, while five-time Cup veteran Darren Clarke was also left out.

Europe have won the last three matches in the biennial event with the US.

Casey, 31, has played in the last two Ryder Cups, while Poulter, 32, competed in the 2004 match at Oakland Hills.

I'm afraid Faldo has shot himself in the foot here, no suprise he picked his two countrymen.

i thought the whole poulter debacle was a joke.....to go and compete in the us when he still had a chance of making it through automatically....makes ya think of the idea that he had already been guarenteed a wildcard...regardless....

Clarke, on form, should have been there....

It's almost upon us now guys! Today is the first practice day for both sides. Will be a tasty encounter come the start on Friday. I have a feeling this will be like Brookeline in 1999.

Things not looking good foe europe now!

I thought the tide had turned after the morning session in Europes favour.
They need to take at least 2 points from these fourballs to have a chance in the singles tomorrow it only looks like they will take 1.5.

Singles wont be easy tomorrow the yanks are up for it and i can imagine the crowd will be doubly up for it tomorrow if they have anymore than a 2 point lead going into tomorrow
