I enjoyed that Gerry, wasnt "Digger"just a joy to watch, never tire of watchin him.Personal fav has to be the Aldo goal were hatchet McMahon kept the ball in from goin over the sideline. You just felt that these players where goin to score and nothin was goin to stop it.
On a side note watchin that theres no doubt we would of had no 6 and poss no 7 in the bag but for the ban.The quality on show there was fcukin unreal.

Spot on, 6 or 7 would be a good call alright.
    Plus,
I know its easy to say but I think the Jonny Barnes of that time in our team now would have us at 19 too. I seen Jan Molby say that off all the great player he played with at Anfield and Ajax, that for 2 or 3 season John Barnes was the best .

What a great team; imo if that team could play in europe we would be singing "In Istanbul we won it 8 times" today.

I love the Aldo v Forrest goal, that sumed Aldo up for me, getting in behind the defender and making the space for himself, not to mention what the goal meant too.

The McMahon made goal is just something else; if you ever wanted to see a team work hard for eachother; that is the team to watch.

The team of 87-89 is the best Liverpool team I have ever witnessed. I was too young to appreciate them at the time; with all the success in the 80's I just presumed it would never end ....

There were some other proper sides around during that period. Credit where credit is due, Everton were superb around those years and could have easily triumphed in Europe. We wouldnt have even qualified for the EC that season. Arsenal were very strong also.

we lost 3 oppertunities to play for the EC during our 6 year ban.Watchin that team on the video that Gerry posted i dont think its folly to say that they could have won at least 1 EC.
