It still strange to see the FAI agree to an away friendly,I suppose they had no choice. Shay Given (Newcastle United) Dean Kiely (West Bromwich Albion) Richard Dunne (Manchester City) John O’Shea (Manchester United) Alex Bruce (Ipswich Town) Steve Finnan (Liverpool) Damien Delaney (Queen’s Park Rangers) Kevin Foley (Wolverhampton Wanderers) Kevin Kilbane (Wigan Athletic) Joey O’Brien (Bolton Wanderers) Andy Reid (Sunderland) Damien Duff (Newcastle United) Stephen Hunt (Reading) Aiden McGeady (Celtic) Steven Reid (Blackburn Rovers) Liam Miller (Sunderland) Glenn Whelan (Stoke City) Robbie Keane (Liverpool) Kevin Doyle (Reading) Daryl Murphy (Sunderland) Andy Keogh (Wolverhampton Wanderers) Shane Long (Reading) Andy O'Brien not coming back Stephen Ireland still not ready to return but "may still in the future". McShane and S.Kelly injured. Carsley probably allowed off for this match.
Surprised Carsley's not in the squad alright. It's rumored that Trappatoni will favour 1 up top and 5 men midfield for the tough away fixtures. So I wouldn't be too surprised if thats the way the team set up for this game Good to see S Reid back. Hell bring some steel to the midfield
its funny the kick off is at 6pm (Sky Sports 2 and Setanta ), could be to do with the fact it gets dark pretty quick over there, hope it is a bit more exciting than the game in USA 94, watched that on my break in Quinnsworth at the time, what a waste of a break
There is a place crying out for Stephen Ireland and his wig in a 4.5.1 formation. He would slot in behind a striker.
They ll load his bank balance alright (FAI) Its time the hand that feeds him got a return starting on Saturday Alright robbie lad!!!!!
Sounds like it might be called off due to the rain, would Robbie's goal still stand in that scenario in the record books?
Its dried up now so I doubt its going to be an issue. I imagine one particular member of the site who's at the game is soaked to the bone right now!
Both goals on this link mate: http://www.goalcentre.com/norway-vs-ireland-live-stream-and-highlights/
Saw the last 20 mins... terrible conditions, Stephen Reid had a good game. Pat Dolan was doing the studio summary, so its hard to tell what really happened as he is a goon.
It was an unfortionate exercise due to the rain. Norway handled the weather much better than we did in the 2nd half. I cant understand why Hunt is not getting a start ... McGeady doesnt need the practice, he playes week in/out for Celts, Duff, granted, is not long over an injury. Hunt is a good impact player but at this moment I believe he is better than McGeady and Duff for a start on the left wing ... McGeady can play down the right Im sure. Its a shame we dont have another decent centre back to partner Dunne. Its the one position we used to be plentyful but now its changed.
