its on ITV 1 at 8.05 i believe

Should be an easy enough game, id throw out the young team and maybe leave alonso out of the squad ( dont want him cup tied) just incase we have to sell him

Its hard to believe its that time of year again. The start of another european Odessy. I disagree with playing the kids. Less rotation, get the team playing fluidly first, particularly early in the season and now. Build confidence and understanding. Hopefully a good 3-0

Flight to Heathrow and Eurostaring it the rest of the way. Cheapest option due to the fact it cos it took UEFA 5 days to announce whether it was going to be a Tuesday or Wednesday. UEFA are on par with the FAI!!

It's on UTV not so sure about TV3. Wouldn't mess about with kids in this game being honest. Get the job done and then introduce kids in the 2nd leg.

I'm pretty sure Standard beat Anderlecht over the weekend which would put me off a little and the have an absolute beast of a centre back called Onasomething who's a massive threat from set pieces

That was a major worry for us last season. Hopefully Agger and whoever can sort it out.

Agreed, I thought that was our achilles heal last year too. Hopefully it's something the lads have worked on since

Get the best XI out the pitch for some confidence going into a tricky game on Saturday. If we can nail this in the away leg, then maybe throw a few young players in on the return leg. Should not take it for granted, look at Rangers.

That was all the warning we needed, I couldnt relax and laugh at Rangers properly because I know we had a job to do these next few weeks to make sure noone is having a cheap laugh at us. Hopefully a bit of pressure from the start and then an early goal will set the tone and we can relax!

Absolutely. An early away goal would put us in total control of the tie and settle any nerves.

Hopefully Robbie Keane to get a goal. It would be a nice confidence booster for him going into the Sunderland match

We seemed to be scoring fairly freely in pre-season; two games where we notched 4 goals is encouraging. Not many easy games in Europe nowadays though; the 10-0 thrashing of Dundalk and the 11-0 against Stromsgodset are a long time ago. I'll be happy taking any kind of lead back to Anfield. Gut feeling says that we'll have too much for them but I fancy them to nick one. I'll go for 3-1 to the 'pool.

3-1 win would be fine by me too. Even 2-1 win wouldn't be bad.
I don't think there's too much chance of annihilating these fellas.
Main thing is to win the tie and move on
