Why is the game on in Dalymount...?

United Park doesn't meet UEFA regulations, so all Drogs home UEFA ties have been there....Sure it hardly even meets Eircom league standards! The bigger pitch suits us too I think.

But think of all those extra €20 notes that will go to Drogheda thanks to all those Celtic jerseys ;)

No they just got crash barriers put in on the terraces for fire safety....not good enough for UEFA though

Are they getting a new ground built them...?I am sure I was reading somewhere about state of the art facility's etc coming soon for the Drogs.

Seems like a good idea Drogheda has a big population and from what I hear pulls in a bit of support from North County Dublin.

Thats the idea. Places like Balbriggan and Swords have no local team so they are the target areas. UEFA games in Daylyer will help promote Drogheda to these areas as well.

I am from North East Dublin and I have been saying for years that one of the LOI clubs should move out this way, there is and never have been a LOI club based here and the population is huge from Fairview right out to Malahide and Swords.

Most definately, there is a huge population in North Dublin that doesn't get the opportunity to get into LOI because of this....
I've noticed a big increase in Dubs supporting the Drogs and I have to say its great.
We'll welcome ye all with open arms :D

Thanks v much JC, am quietly confident we can get a positive results. Rumours spreading like wildfire that Larsson could be out.
As a matter of fact he's just back from a long term shoulder injury should be on the bench tonight. He's a cracking player.
On another note Gartland our other centre half looks to be in line for an international call-up. Missed the American tour as an 11th hour call-up as his phone was off :D

Enjoy it mate, and best of luck. I'm not a big fan of LOI myself, but no harm to see Irish clubs doing well in Europe. Quick question, who will ya be shouting for next season when Liverpool and Drogheda meet in the European Cup group stages? ;)

 After getting out of hospital from the shock and ecstasy of hearing the draw, I'd settle for a home win in both legs, and then the two to meet again in the final!!!
Wonder would Mr.Power give me a price on that!!?

Just a quick review of the game last night. It was very open game with chances at either end, defensive lapse by ourselves led to Larsson punishing us with a great finish. We stepped up a gear second half and were justly rewarded when Zayed (MOM) finished well from a nice move. Advantage Helsingborgs but all to play for in the second leg, we need to score early in Sweeden.
Larsson was quiet enough showed some nice touches though. It was an even game draw a fair result. Shelly was quality as usual for ourselves even carrying an injury, and extra gold star for squaring up to Larsson. He's the best player in LOI and would make it in the Premiership IMO. Robinson worked his socks off in the middle, Zayed and Grant second half up front looked very sharp and a special mention to Garto and J Gavin (first appearance since Feb after injury) who marshalled Larsson for most of game.
On another note in the corner beside the connaught stand there was a bout 50-100 lads in Celtic jerseys. They sang celtic songs, even though Celtic weren't playing, hung up tricolores, yet supported a Sweedish team and Sweedish player that played for a Scottish team against an IRISH side.......Pathetic. Helsingborgs missed late chance and I looked over to see heads in hands in Celtic corner.
Larsson looked embarressed applauded them while running off in opposite direction after the game.
