Quick wiki look at Hertha berlin

The team was almost relegated in the 2003-04 season, but rebounded and finished 4th the following season, but missed out on the Champions League after they were held to a draw on the final day by Hannover 96, which saw Werder Bremen over take them for the spot on the final day. As a thank-you gesture, Werder sent the Hannover squad ninety-six bottles of champagne. In 2005-06 the Herthaner finished 6th, and qualified for the UEFA Cup by defeating FK Moskva in the Intertoto Cup but stopped at the first round of the UEFA Cup by Odense BK. In 2006-07 Hertha finished 10th after sacking manager Falko Götz at April 11th. Hertha starts saison 2007-08 with a new manager, Lucien Favre from the Swiss Champion of 2006 and 2007, FC Zürich. They finished 10th again, but starting in the first qualification round of the UEFA Cup via Fair Play Ranking.

The Berlin Olympic StadiumHertha BSC plays its matches in Berlin's Olympiastadion. The facility has a capacity of 76,243, making it the second-largest stadium in Germany behind Borussia Dortmund's Westfalenstadion (82,932, including ~67,000 seats).

The stadium hosts the annual German Cup final and was also the site for six matches of the 2006 FIFA World Cup as well as the tournament final.

Will be nowhere near a sell out in Berlin, they only opened up ticket sales for the top tier at the weekend.

Voronin is gonna do well and bag a couple in the country we bought him from. His value will rise to 3.5 mill and he'll be sold back to a german side for 3.5 million by next weekend. Im sure everybody would be happy with that outcome from tomorrow nights match:D:D

He might score actually. If we sell him wed have to buy another forward though I think (unless Babel and Kuyt can cover)

Looking forward to seeing tonights game, reckon it might have more of a first team look about it in the first half tonight. Its probably time to start getting the team to gel again before the start of the league proper next month but we should still get to see a good few youngsters getting a run out in the second half.
Does anyone know if Torres and the other spanish contingent have linked up with the squad yet or when they're due back?

We are actually on Setanta Sports 2 as they have the Scum on Setanta Sports 1. Hat trick for Voronin so we can get rid of him before season starts.

Who is the co commentator on setanta? Just in for penalty miss. Typical pre season game. First time I have seen Dossena in action. Tidy on the ball.

Incredibly toothless up front.never even threatened apart from the penalty.when you have a striker in your ranks who you are confident will miss a penalty and he actually does, you know it's time for him to step aside.hopefully we will have n'Gog in place for the next game.

Dossena looks good going forward and comfortable on the ball-not too sure about his defensive capabilities yet though.

It was an absolutely terrible game that i really wish i hadn't endured, thought young pacheco was lively again, thought leto looked outclassed even at this level, voronin showed his complete lack of ability again and pennant was absolutely dreadful.

Fair play to the defence though cos they really held up well and i thought young jack hobbs played very well, even when he got caught out of place he had the pace to get back in time!
