I am going to purchase a flat screen tv for the up comming season. Looking at Philips 42". You can get them on ebay for 750 euro plus shipping if you choose 'Buy It Now'. http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...go=DR&its=S%2BI%2BSS&itu=ISS%2BUCI%2BSI&otn=4 Anyone got any other good values flat screen tvs lately. Was in Peats and Arnotts and they are a bit out of my price range. Max 800 quid.
I bought A Phillips 32" HD ready about 6 months ago and it's fantastic .. price €750, you can hook your laptop up to the tv aswell, I've never considered buying one from Ebay, wouldn't the shipping costs be a bit steep. ??
Hi Kop Why not go for Beko, its the same make as Philips just badged differently!! Made in same factory. Bit dodgy buying electrical goods from ebay. I have Beko flatscreen in bedroom and never had a problem (Touchwood!)
i have a friend that works for a company and can get discount on flat screens,if u want send me details of which 1 u are looking for and i can get a price for u.
Also Keep an eye on the Irish retailers, they are all struggling so expect more sales ... Power City's website is not the best, but if you search you'll find they always have end of line offers etc on it (coincidently bought something here a while back, thats why it's on my mind, no other connection) In fairness, the guy I dealt with who returned the phonecalls for PowerCity when I bought something last time around was very decent & helpful mind you, they just need to upgrade their website. edit: I just tried the site now, and the bloomin' button to link to the right page ain't even working on PowerCity's website now lol Here's the link though, from here you can see what they have at sale price because it's end of the line, but I'd but be put off by that myself ... http://www.powercity.ie/?action=classe
richersounds.ie have half price shipping to boards.ie members (€25?) take a look here i haven't used them myself yet but as you'll see in the link not one unhappy person.
Thought they were gone ? - the shop on the Liffey in Dublin certianly is, which was a real loss I might add.
try laptopsdirect.ie i bought a sony 32" from there not too long ago, no hassle at all. a lot cheaper than the shops.
Guys, John McDonald here MD of Richer Sounds Ireland - I did not know we had our own thread on Boards! Yippie, and thanks to all who have said nice things about us. Just to clarify a few things: 1. Yes we know our richersounds.ie site is a little crap, we are really working to make it better we have a new site in the wings waiting to go - we are just soo damn busy at the moment its untrue. 2. Anything you see on our .co.uk or richersounds.com site we can get in for you(assuming the UK guys have it in stock..), at the same price or cheaper - in fact we will have most of it in stock - just we probably have not had a chance to get it on the .ie site. 3. We will price beat ANYBODY! I saw a few mentions of KomPleet and other online retailers, so long as they have the goods in stock and are authorised dealers we will beat any cheaper price. 4. We are in Ireland! We have a bricks N Mortar shop in Belfast and we also own The Philips Shop in Dublin where our service centre is based so you can feel comfortable shopping with us 5. Once again we know our Euro rate is ropey on some items - it all depends on when we bought them or when we last updated the product - however you are free to choose either the sterling or euro price and we will sell at whicher is the cheapest for you. 6. The best thing is always to give us a call on the dog n bone or on skype - we will always sort you out a price!!!! Thanks again for the Kind comments, Thanks to Boards! lifted from boards.ie site Hope that sorts you out Garrett
Second that completely. Sony are the only ones that can rival Samsung with the Bravia range are a complete rip off. I would make one recommendation to you try if you can afford it to get a TrueHD tv with is 1080p which is full Hi-Def as you are future proofing your tv for blu ray and the likes, if you cant make sure is its HD compliant at 1080i. A 'HD Ready' tv doesnt mean squat every tv is HD ready, that just means it can accept HD signals which all tvs can, even old CRT tvs can accept HD signals, but it doesnt mean it will display them in HD, make sure the tv somewhere says either 1080i or 1080p. I know a couple of people that got caught out with the whole 'HD Ready' stickers
I got an LG widescreen around a year year and half ago and am very happy with it. Picture quality is excellent and was good value for money at the time, think it was a grand. Although there are bargains on line before you buy I found it better to go in to the shops and actually see the picture that the telly produces a few that have good spec for some reason don't produce a decent picture. It's important to get it right, you are going to be spending a lot of time looking at it
Have a 50" LG HD Ready Flat screen and picture quality is excellent. Bought it last year for €1300 great value. No complaints so far!
Bought a 40" full hd 1080p Samsung last september when i moved into my new house, was around €1600 at the time but easily the best piece of kit I bought. Took weeks researching which one to buy and after seeing in the shop and reading the reviews online mind was made up. Great picture, hdmi slots etc and samsung do have a great rep. Komplet are selling them online for around €990 but you should get near enough to that in a shop if you look around.
if your looking for good value aldi have a special on 42" hd ready lcd tv for €699 with a warranty . i wouldnt rule that out there electronics are very good
+1 I have a samsung and its quality, if you look around you should get a 40"LCD for a grand, much better than spend 800 on a piece of crap
