    Hi

I'm using a Lexmark printer / scanner and scanning documents in Acrobat Reader format.

Everytime I scan a single page, it's appearing to be extremely large (compared with others, I'd receive from other people).

For example: If I scan 1, colour, A4 page with say 40% of the page in black text and the usual headed paper titles etc - it's saving as a file of 21,788kbs. Surely, this can't be correct can it ?

Can anyone please offer some suggestions here on what I may be doing wrong ?

    Many thanks

That generally would be correct. What other people sent to you would have been resized.

Try opening you 21mb file in Paint (under Accessories in Windows). On the "image" menu option try stretch/skew. Change to 50% for example and save file. You will see a big difference in file size.

There are other picture editing applications that may be on your pc which would allow you to reduce number of colours etc.

There should be settings for your scanner also to reduce the number of colours etc.

    Thanks mate

I'll have a look at it during the week and see what can be done - bigest problems here are the file sizes are taking up too much space & also, taking far too long to upload into websites / e-mails etc.

    Thanks
