Goldstein is no Lovejoy, even though he is a Chavski fan funny c*nt

Lovejoy was a self publicising c*ck head. He thinks he is going off to become a proper tv presenter. He's just a d lister celebrity (or worse), who sucks up to fat frank and terry.
That show ran its course about three years ago.

Not a bad old show, something to do again on a Saturday morning instead of lying in bed hungover! Some of Goldstein's gags were really just cringe inducing though.

Have to disagree with ya ther Gar. Am I the only one here who thinks its not funny and repetitive. I flick through it someimes to see the showboating. Glad that muppet Lovejoy is gone, haven't seen it yet this year so can't comment on new guy.
I dont want to hear any of ye singin "who are ya? " or "easy easy" in anfield :).

Im with you too i never really got the whole soccer am thing, yes some funny things came out of it but alot of rubbish too ie the eaaaassssssy stuff and so on ! never really watched it and could got give a flying fiddlers if they stop showing it !

I dunno,

I never like it. I was more a fan of Baddiel and skinner (Pheonix from the flames was excellent). I felt they also seemed more natural.

There was a laddish element to soccer Am i couldnt warm to.

Great show that was fairness. Remember when they were taking the mick out of Pinapple head aka Jason Lee, how that name stuck with him!

I think soccerAM's weakness was that Tim Lovejoy thought he was funny. In fairness it must take a huge ego to think those "sketches" he did with his staff were any good, you know the ones with Barry character down the pub etc? The format became stale. I ended up just watching it from 11:30 - 12:00. You'd get showboat, 3rd eyes, teammates and the kick-the-ball-through-the-inflatable-wembley-sign bit, rest of the show was rubbish besides the odd good guest. Like why have a bunch of moody, monosyllabic and uninterested bands on?

I've even heard it called sexist and racist - soccerette and spanish commentator - but that's a bit harsh, I just didn't think it was as funny as Tim thought it was...

It had it's moments over the years but I hope there's some new footy shows being developed out there that'll keep us going because soccerAM lost it's charm a long time ago.
