The $ is king,I agree I think whoever wins this will win the lot.

I was having a panic attack last night when I switched RTE on at 7 and it was GAA.....I taught it was maybe a rest day for the Euros.

I'll be going for Spain too, but because of the Liverpool players involved and their style of play rather than any financial interest :)

Will be rooting for Spain myself tonight, but i disagree that the winner of this will win the tournament...i've fancied the Germans from the start, and i think that they have built up momentum as they have gone along...

Added to that, SSN were on this morning that they have lost their 3 previous games played on June 22nd on penalties, hopefully they buck that trend also and we're all doing the Torres bounce!

What did people think of the match? Neither team had too many clear cut chances but Casillas played very well throughout. I'm happy with the result. The semi final with Russia should be an interesting one with the winner most likely meeting Germany in the final. I'm looking forward to it.

The big mistake by Aragones was taking off Torres not saying it as a Liverpool fan but as an avid football supporter when he was clearly having the Italian defence in their heels. Villa and Silva were disappointing tonight. Fabregas showed how good he is controlled the midfield like he was a player in his prime when he came on. My €20 bet at 5/1 is still intact till Thursday at least. Aragones needs to stop ****ing around with Torres.

Not a great spectacle, but good riddance to the negativity of Italian football. Agree that is should be a great semi-final, I don't see Spain having it as easy as they did in the first game and it'll be interesting to see the impact that the previously suspended Pavluchenko will have.

Arshavin was the one suspended Sean, him and Pavluchenko are the main threats. If Hiddink learned anything about the first game is not to go gung-ho against the Spanish as they will pick the Russians off the like they did in Innsbruck over 2 weeks ago.

They can certainly get to the final and with a stronger strike force than Portugal there's no reason they couldn't beat Germany or Turkey on the day. Here's hoping for a high tempo finish to the tournament :)

No fear there, I didn't back them either. I'm closing up my Boylesports after the disaster that was the quater-finals, not one prediction came through.

Hope you weren't hit too hard. I remember a guy before took a bet from another fella in a pub about the miracle match in Istanbul. It was half time and he was asked what odds would he give on Liverpool winning. He said 30-1 or something like that. The other fella stuck E10 on the table. He felt the sting after that :D

The morale of the story: don't bet against Liverpool!!!
