Anybody download and use this new version yet? All i want to know is what is the Phising Filter?
And why do new pages open up displaying other competions, never happened in the older versions.

use it at work, dont know what the phising does.

Its main advantage is the tabs you can open besides having 4 or 5 windows open at the same time

Found out what the Phising does. It checks to see if its an authentic site.
Still having problems with a new explorer opening up. It keeps opening up onto ebay: asking if i want to by jewellery. Do you have a problem like this.
    its just pissin me off

I've been using the new IE7 for well over a year now, and i've no problems with it at all...I'm not sure why ebay is popping up all the time, but look in the tools dropdown on the right hand side of your window to browse your internet options...you might find something there...

You might have joy looking under the Tools menu in the top rh corner. You should see "Pop up Blocker" there. If you hover over it with the mouse, you'll get a further drop down menu. If the blocker is "on" it will say something like "turn blocker off". I would advise turning on the blocker.....might solve it

Cheers. Blocker is on. The name of the page that opens up is 'CI: "what ever the competion is" '. Just annoying
Maybe ya can just block that ?

Go to start> run> then type msconfig...this will give you a list of all the programmes that are running upon startup etc...it might be worth a look...

sounds like you have some adware or spyware on your machine.

do a google for a application called spybot. Its free to download, and once then run it to check for viruses, tracking cookies and adware.

Its finds a lot more stuff than your anti-virus software. My machine was running slowly for ages and I kept running Norton with no viruses. I then download spybot and it found this trojan that was preventing Live Update from working and also polluting my system with ads.

    Worth a try

Its a good while since I downloaded it, so can't remember. I would be wary of those TV Players like SopCast and TVU, I got a virus through one of them last year. Best job is to set up a scheduled scan every few days on your anti virus
