Heard the Dustin song on the radio the other day, first time I listened to it and I have to say I think its great - well for the eurovision anyway. Its better than the other sh**e we've sent the last couple of years!.

He didn't make it, the rest of Europe clearly missed the joke. It's still better than the pile of crap we sent last year.

Excellent, clearly the strategy worked so ;)

... lets face it, thats just what most of us were hoping for, we've sure as hell spent enough dosh funding the bloomin' thing over the years, everytime we'd won it (the year before)

I'm for sticking him back in again next year :)

Bl**ding Europeans, no sense of humour!!. Ah in fairness I think Dustin is a very irish thing, wouldn't expect them to get it. Think it was good we sent him for a laugh anyway.

    Here,

Did you not get the meaning of my last post mate ... I seriously don't want us winning it anymore, that muppet won it once already and cost the country a small fortune when we subsequently had to host the bloomin' event :D ;) :D ;)

He won it twice. Three times if you count the fact that he wrote Linda Martin's song.

That tired whinge is only 15 years outdated.

The state broadcaster pays only 50% of the cost now, hence why RTE try harder than it used to. The rest of it is paid by A2, TVE, ARD, and BBC. Given how much profit RTE now make every year, they can easily cover 50% of the cost.

How do you think RTS, NTU, ETV and the other Eastern bloc broadcasters are able to host it??

It could be worse, we could have been the gimps from Estonia. I bet there was no one proudly boasting about being related to them.

Its a pity it was decided by delagates and not the public as he would have gotten through.

Back in the day there was only 20-25 countries in it and now there are almost 50 going for it including the automatic finalists and all those new break away countries take it ultra serious like its a real song contest compared to being the bit of political back slapping it is just voting for your neighbours.

If you take it seriously like we have in recent years its been a disaster so why not have a go taking the pi$$, Id hardly call Dana International, Lordi (the thrash metalers dressed up in monster costumes) or that one who dressed up as Xena Warrior Princess have all won it in recent years serious entrants, they just tried something a bit off the wall.
