a game would last 2 to 2.5 hours if the clock was stopped every time the ball went dead

I wouldnt be a fan of stopping the clock. The game would last too long. Its the referee's job to add time on at the end, I know they're not adding 30mins on at the end for the ball going out, but thats all part of the game.

What next? Adding time on for unchallenged passes?? Waiting for corners??

There's a reason why Yanks sport is played in one country, and football is played around the world. Excitement isn't it.

I think this would give Steve Bennett too much of an excuse to add time onto the end of a match to allow United to score if they were losing or only drawing...

the fourth official putting up the board for the amount of stoppage time and abusing him for it.either you want more because you are losing or less because you are winning.its part of the game for me.
