i would like us to use some of the stars from the reserves side on sunday.we have nothing to gain from playing some of the regulars.maybe this way the game will be a good indicator for rafa of the standard the young lads are at.a game at white hart lane would be a stern test for them.

ye think that would be a good idea. nice to see how they would do against a full team. would be great if two or three of them made the step up to first team level and got some games next year.

is the 7 sub rule in next year..? if it is then it has to benefit the reserves.

Would like to see nemeth get a run out and Insua get another run

So long as Rafa doesnt rest Torres and lets him go for the debut season goal scoring record I'll be happy.

Insua should get another run as even after just a couple of appearances is giving me the same kind of vibe I got from Agger in his first few games where he looked ready to be a first team starter straight away.

Reckon Nemeth must be near getting a game too - i know the reserve league is much slower than the premiership but he's a very good finisher, excellent touch, very pacey adn tends to pick the right ball more often than not...in other words the opposite of Voronin

I was thinking the same about Torres. Wipe horseface from the history books!

The 7 sub rule will be an advantage i think Rafa will exploit next season, it's about time the English game brought it in been honest like other European Leagues.

Well i do agree with you that a few of the lads deserve their chance to step up to the big stage but its very important that its only done in one's and two's. It will be far more benficial for these players to come into the squad and be playing with the regular team rather than a load of reserves that could end up on the wrong end of an embarassing scoreline. That would do nothing for their confidence but Nemeth, Insua and Plesis all appear to be very close to the finished product and will only improve further with first team action!

very good point that.i just want something there to add to the match.realistically its a proper dead rubber but maybe with some exciting prospects in the team it would put a different aspect on the day

I agee,Insua should be given a shot he looked fairly impresive in his few appearances.

Hope to god that Torres swipes that record from the former manc.:D
He really deserves it.....a perfect way to end his brilliant debut season.

Agree 100% mate

I was half tempted to suggset it would be good to get Harry K out one last time before he leaves Anfield ..... not that I'd want him to get injured in the match or anything ;)

Agree, Rafa will love it.
It will also keep lesser squad menbers satisfied that they at least have a role in matchday, and give hope as well as experience to the youngsters.

Crouch and Alonso not even in the squad - they must be on their way out - bad stuff from Rafa he should have them in the team - why does he need Finnan and Hypia on the bench

Alonso played last week at Anfield and did the lap of honour, so I wouldnt factor him into it, Crouch on the otherhand, I dunno!

We played brilliantly in the 2nd half. It was exhibition stuff at times and Spurs would of had no complaints if it finished 5-0. Torres missed a couple of clear chances and Benayoun had a tap in late on but tried to heel it in. Insua looked steady again and got booked for a strong tackle. Mascherano was brilliant as usual but Torres stole the show for what he did in the 2nd half and got a super goal.

I can't believe Voronin got a start today, I hope to God this doesn't mean we have to endure him for another season.

I know he got a goal but unless Benitez is planning on keeping him on, why not play Nemeth or Babel up front. Today's game was meaningless, this and the Man City game were opportunities to try out different options.
