I reckon this will go the distance; two very experienced guys - unlikely that either of them will be caught cold and they both have enough to stay out of trouble. Calzaghe on points, but watch out for those Vegas "Golden Boy" judges.....

Something has got to give in this fight, it'll either be Hopkins' age or Calzaghe's hands.

Experienced or not, this fight has gotten personal. True to form Hopkins has touched a nerve with comments about Calzaghe's father living through him and qouted as saying "no white boy is going to knock me down".

For me Calzaghe is coming to the end of a very underated career, I'm going with my head over heart and take Calzaghe at his word. "I'm going to put him into permanent retirement".

    Come on Joe!!!!

    was anyone Watching it?
wasn't a great Fight at all,Hopkins was on the back Foot for the whole Fighht,if he'd Won it it would've been a travesty as far as i'm concerned...
forget about the 1st Round,Calzaghe was the best Fighter throughout,he was the only one trying to Box.

Didn't stay up. Would've been pointless as I don't have Setanta!

From reading the reports this morning it sounds like the fight wasn't a classic, with Calzaghe winning on a split decision after surviving a knockdown in the first round. Thereafter it was fairly even but Calzaghe's work rate seemed to have impressed the judges. It's on Setanta Ireland tonight at 9.30 if anyone is interested.

one of thw worst "BIG" fights i've ever watched. Hopkins you'd have to respect for holding a title for 11 years but i think his time is gone, calzaghe was the better of the two but my god! i think he should follow hopkin's ....when's the next hunky dory fight...

I actually enjoyed it, I was hoping Calzaghe would take it and I think he did enough as Hopkins was too negative (as always) but Hopkins still has real class, his counter puching is phenomenal hes like a cat the way he pounces. It wasn't the most exciting of fights but it was never going to be a Gatti v Ward fight.

I think that weight is too much for Calzaghe though you could see Hopkins had the greater power, he was always the more likely to sccore the knockout
