Stan James have their Handicap betting up. Basically they give every team a points handicap and if you can predict the team with the most league points+handicap points at the end of the season then you'll get a return of 15 times your stake. The easiest way of explaining it is... this is how Stan James thinks the premiership will look at the end of next season: Manchester Utd - ~85 Chelsea - 83 Liverpool - 77 Arsenal - 71 Tottenham - 63 Newcastle - 54 Aston Villa - 52 Everton - 52 Blackburn - 51 Portsmouth - 49 West Ham - 49 Bolton - 45 Manchester City - 44 Sunderland - 44 Middlesbrough - 43 Reading - 43 Fulham - 39 Birmingham - 38 Wigan - 38 Derby - 34
Why didn't they start with Derby on zero and work up instead of taking points off everyone, im sure there's something i'm missing here.
As much as it pains me, they might be far off with their predictions. I think its a safe bet that the top 3 will be occupying those postions at the seasons end, but I imagine and hope that Chelsea and most importantly Liverpool will push them much closer this time around
Betting confuses me. I dont even get the whole 4/3, 5/4 etc..odds. I get the 5/1 as it seams simple enough if you put on 1 you get 5 back but then 1/3 doesnt make sense, to me that means you put on 3 and get back one...ignore me im just a silly girl that doesnt understand the life of betting
....& so I'm offering 1/3 that you will live life with much more money in your pocket than the inveterate gamblers amongst us...
Lol, yeah maybe its better i dont know the betting mans lingo then. Went to the dogs the other week for the first time and just picked out dogs with the best names. Lost about €40.
The easiest way of doing it is to forget the fractions and do it by decimal. In decimal form a team with odds of 1/3 would be 1.33 as you include what would be won from a €1 stake. Therefore if you back Liverpool with €10 to beat Portsmouth at 1.33 you will receive €13.30 in return if the bet wins. If Portsmouth are 2/1 to win the match they will be 3.0 in decimal form and again if you back them to win with €10 you will receive €30 if they win The fractions used to wreck my head until I started using the decimals Hope this helps!
not sure bout city, but west ham does look worth a punt. anyone know how it went last year? did reading win it?
City bought a good player today in Martin Petrov, although with him leaving Atletico Simao is rumoured to be on his way to the Vicente Calderon
