Set to hold 60,000 with the possibility of extending to 78,000, and is scheduled to open in 2010. The Kop will become even bigger, holding 19,000 fans, remaining the biggest single structure stand in the world.

Sure the corners at the side of the Kop could hold an extra 5 to 8 thousand if expansion was needed didn't see the opposite end of the Kop to see if the corners were filled in there.

Have to say compared to the previous design lads this one outweighs anything i've seen before New Wembley is not a patch on it. Really exciting future ahead finally we have arrived in the modern era of football.

It will be worse than when the original Kop had to be closed in 1994.

But what are they going to do with the Plaque to Billy Liddell, Shankly's statue and both the shankly gates and the paisley gates when we move surely they will uprooted and brough to the new stadium?

So so so glad theyve gone for a rectangular shape rather than a round one... fortress Anfield just got a hell of a lot bigger.

I reckon those bits in the corner are probably for corporate boxes or something?

wats the capacity of the current KOP??

"The stadium will include an awe-inspiring, 18,000-seater Kop end, almost half as big again as the current Kop capacity." so just under 12000 I guess. Open to correction .
The open corners is a piece I'm not really fond of, can anyone explain if this will be closed in for the increse in capacity?

Yeah don't like the corners myself. Hard to visualise whats their purpose but I presume this is exactly where capacity will be extended so Kop would eventually be well over 20k spanning out even more.

On the south east view anny road looks non-existence but the side stands do seem to go very far back so obv extra capacity there. Was wondering is that a big screen on the outside of the Kop in the south west view ?! I would like to see the aerial bird's eye views to compare to the previous images. Looks like one side is sloping inwards and the other outwards which is consistent with those previous pics. Also does seem to be slanting downwards from Kop end to Anny Road which again is as was thought before.

Well apart from looking like the new terminal at Cork airport from one side, it looks superb. I'm highly impressed.

Looks very good overall ...

I just wish they'd increase the seating now and stop this flapping around stuff. If it comes to it, do a deal with the Council / Government to help fund a rail link ... there was supposed to be a light rail system going into Liverpool for 2008, until the Government pulled the funding etc. It's an investment for the future me thinks.

One thing I noticed, don't the upper tiers on both sides look very steep, I'm terrified of hights, so wonder if I should write to LFC now and ask them to reserve me a seat down near the pitch instead ? ;) :D

Was dissapointed that there wasnt more photos i mean they dont really show anything special except a futuristic couple of pics. I cant wait to see the new stadium, do the stadium tour :) but until then some more pics be great.

Looks absolutely savage in fairness. Read that they are looking to design the acoustics around the Kop to maximise the noise...
