Bertie was a tool and thank god he's gone as he was an embarrasment to the state. Biffo has no link to any of Haughey cabinets so to call the man a Robbing, Stealing, Hungary B****** is a bit much. I though as a Liverpool fan you might be a bit weary of tarring everyone with the one brush as the media often do with us.
Bertie, was a great ambassador for this country, and did a great job with the peace Process etc. The Robbing, Stealing etc comment was guided at bertie. But to think that Brian Cowen and the most of the FF members are not involved in that type of practice is a blinded view, in my opinion.
Good riddance to bad rubbish some will say, he did a bit for the country but his reign has be tainted by the allegations in the Mahon tribunal.
There is an ethos within FF of putting rich people and business men first and are notoriouly linked with some of the country's richest business man. Sure you only have to look at the Galway Races every year to see that. Thats not good for any country. They care no more for you and me than the man on the moon. They are a disgrace to this country and how people can vote for them is beyond me. People think its great because they've a few bob in their pockets (lets see what happens when the recession really hits in though) and IMO alot of people have become greedy and selfish. They will vote for the party that they think will put more money in their pockets and keep the "economy" going. They don't stop to spare a thought for people who are less well off than themselves, for example that poor woman who died last year because she had to wait 6 months (or more, can't remember the exact figure) for cancer diagnosis through the public health service while a guy in the next bed to her told her he was seen within 3 weeks because he had VHI. An absolutely disgracful and shocking situation and a reflection on how poorly this country is being run. We've made a start today with getting rid of Bertie - mind you he left of his own accord and not because of public outcry - which there should have been. No wonder this country is the way it is when we all just lie down and take what ever the government throws at us. Ok rant over
