Liverpoolfc.tv can reveal that Steve Finnan has agreed a new three-year deal with the club. The Republic of Ireland international will complete the formalities of the contract when he returns from Liverpool's two-game tour of Hong Kong. Right-back Finnan has been a Reds player for four years now, during which time he has made 182 first team appearances. He follows in the footsteps of Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Xabi Alonso, Pepe Reina and Momo Sissoko in pledging his future to the club this summer. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N156452070723-0739.htm
Good news. He has seen so many right backs off (Josemi, Kronkamp, Arbeloa (well he will) and I suspect his form has cooled our interest in Dani Alves. Why replace the best?
He has seen off so many right backs due the consistency he didn't have under Houllier's stewardship. I wonder who will replace him in 3 years time is the question...not Arbeloa anyway
he deserves 1 . looking forward to him haveing 3 good years hopefully. he can add a premiership medal by then
Well deserved. Equally as important as Pepe,Momo, Xabi, Stevie and Carra's new contracts. Quality player, absolute ledgend!
Consistency wise only Carra comes close to Stevie Finnan & even he lags behind- Great bit of businees- Best RB in the game over the past 3 or 4 seasons!
Nice one , always great to have an Irish Red, especially someone who is such an integral member of the team.
Maybe if a few of these younger irish reds that Rafa scouted and brought to the club will break into the team in the future.
